Good morning, everyone! According to Wikipedia, Bouchercon is an annual mystery writers convention with an award. it shares between Albany and (oops, we forgot). This year Sue Grafton is getting the award. Very soggy here, but we need it. How is the rose/Grizz/Teddy & family get together?
Have a last Saturday of summer Saturday. (And happy b-day Lucy Lou the Labradoo)

He looks very much like Bob the Street Cat. I don’t know if any of youse have heard of the book, A Street Cat Named Bob. I recently read it and loved it. It is a very inspirational book. BooBear, I think your mom would love it!

Good morning all. Cloudy here at the beach. Oh well, we have had a great run of lovely weather.

All shout out a Happy Birthday to YSAS. He is spending the day in a shark cage. Under water. By choice. Mad, I tell ya, the boy is mad.

And Happy Birthday to Lucy Lou. Tupper and Gilly send head bumps. (Ha! Gotcha, you evil otter corked!)

Thank you all for having my back. This virtual place is totally real. Huh? But, it is.

BooBear and Golinka, thank you for your special words. Sharon, please thank the Herd for posting the prayer.

I would like to put the ocean video on a loop and just watch it for days. (By the way, yesterday was the Beach Two Legged’s Anniversary.) Congratulations!

As for me, as OTAS put it, One Step At A Time. Next step is Tuesday to meet the doc that might do the procedure. He works at the same hospital where the techs didn’t use gloves. My doc, who is wonderful, likes this doc. We shall see.

One of our puppy people works at a different place and she is checking out that place on Monday.

Yes, I received a call from YSAS and LLL, and the shark diving went great. They still have all limbs and digits. Whew. I’ll post a picture of them later.

We are not going to Albany. You had to buy tickets, $175 a piece! I asked about just day passes. They had them . . At $80 a piece and the only thing we would have been able to do is stand in line to get a paw print. YIKES!

This thing is a big deal. Maybe next year . . ?

Getting tired . . Will be back later. Thanks again for your support.

Melanie, We had no idea that event required tickets, let alone EXPENSIVE tickets. Thank Dog Mom did not succeed in convincing Pop to go all the way up there!

Today, Pop is going to a Victory Brewing Company Brew/Bluegrass Festival. One of the groups they got to see in that private barn concert, Mr. Fuzzy and the Barbarian, are even playing there. It sounds like lots of fun, but our mom is staying here with us us us! Well, OK, mostly with the Deemster.

A bit more on Boucheron. Boucheron is one of three major mystery writer awards events in the U.S., with the prizes there named the Anthony. It moves around the country to different venues from year to year. The other two are the Mystery Writers of America event, always held in NYC, and they award the Edgars (which OFA won a few years back for young adult fiction). The third one is sponsored by a group called Malice Domestic, and is always in the Washington, DC area. (I’ve never been but maybe next year.) The award they give is the Agatha. There may be some subtle differences between the Anthonys and Edgars, but I think the eligibility criteria is largely the same, where the Agatha are very much geared toward cozies.

Oh my, Teddy is growing up so fast.

Well, we came, we saw, we ate lobstahs. And now it’s time to think about heading back home. We were going to wait til Monday, but it is supposed to be very rainy and cold tomorrow, so that makes home sound better. This cottage is very sweet and we love being here, but there is NO insulation and in rainy, cold weather it gets kind of chilly and damp.

It has been a great vacation and we are ready to go home and tackle the world again. And my vision came true. Before his surgery, I “saw” him, walking down the beach, straight and pain free. And now I really did see that with my own eyes. Twirling. Twirling. And humbled by the great power of support and prayers.

    Thank you Plunderers.

I’ve had some good news on the health front this week. Since the crime scene incident, the vet wants to do lab work every week. Each week, I get weighed and my blood gets drawn. My weight has been up and down and the results of my blood test have been heading in the wrong direction. The day of the crime scene my red blood cell count was at the very low end of acceptable and it’s dropped by 8% since then. But, this week, it increased by 2%. My Lady says it isn’t much, but we’ll take it heading in the right direction. The vet put me on another new medication this week. My energy is still low, but I’ve parlayed it into getting more attention and tummies.

I had one kidney stone many, many years ago and it was exactly like being in labor. Only one episode and never repeated.

Sadie has had intermittent devil-dog tendencies the last week. I don’t know if it is the colder weather or if certain dogs have been blurring in to entice her. The latest episode was after I discovered she had escaped from the *completely* enclosed fenced yard in Anchorage and was wandering the neighborhood. Fortunately, she came when called but then went tearing around the house, jumping up & off and up & off and up & off the master bed. Made me dizzy to watch her. Pillows and dog sheet cover went flying.

I don’t know for sure if I HAVE stones, just unnerving pain jolts that have decreased a bit since Angie has been watering me. This has been going on for several days but today has been over the top. I have a appt on Monday with a new doc since my old one would not discuss the problem because it wasn’t what I came in for. It seems that chest pains trump kidney any day. Heart is fine. N- e-x-t

    The beach party’s over
The Lobsters are all yelling “hooray”

Well, we are all packed except for the last minute stuff. We went up to the beach to say goodnight to the waves and the moon. It was sad, but still awesome in its magnificence. But dreams came true here, so it was a great vacation. Really glad you all came along with us.

    Goodnight.

Macy & Riƶ: I have not read the novel so can’t compare, but have heard tell the TV series is quite different from the book.
An interview with Dean Norris had him revealing what a BB type character he will be playing in this series.
Where will it go from here? There are some things that still need to be explained…but a whole seasons worth? Maybe SK will make it worth our while.

Today, I went with my Lady and the Giant into town to get straw for us dogs. We stopped at the pet store to find my new favorite dog pillow on clearance. Someone who shall remain nameless—not me—had several accidents on my old favorite pillow. My Lady tried washing it to no avail. We didn’t find my new favorite pillow today. Luckily, I have three back up pillows I can use until my Lady makes my new favorite pillow. All is not lost. While we were at the pet store, I saw it—a squeaky toy in the shape of a pig. I couldn’t resist so helped myself. I grabbed it right off the display and I started to squeak the squeaker then and there. Until I realized my Giant and Lady were heading to the register to buy it, I stayed out of arms reach so they couldn’t take my pig away from me.

The Giant and me walking to the dog truck. The Giant is carrying the squeaky pig for me. I had to keep an eye on his paws to make sure he didn’t claim it as his own. I am happy to say the Giant can be trusted.

Sadie loves squeaky toys and is an expert de-squeaker which then renders the toys unusable. It is rare that I find something that can last.

I was raking leaves in the front yard ahead of the expected snow and suddenly I saw Sadie. How did she get out of the enclosed fenced backyard? I was about to change her name to Houdini when I discovered that the house inspector had left a gate unlatched.

The house inspection went fine–a repair list of mostly little things, nothing serious. Yay!

That headset is while beautiful because within the visualize. That came quickly. I would recommend getting a towel through each and every coating as you hit things out w / your steam iron. It does not vapor away and merely a steamer. All iron ended up being required. It is very delicate, so if you don’t trust your self with all the towel furthermore vapor iron, next accept they up to a pro. Pretty sound.
