Hi guys, happy 6th. We did our 4th on the 3rd, because Melanie had dialysis on the 4th.

So hey, check out this email I got yesterday morning!

Congrats, Buddy!! You won the print copy of The Right Side by Spencer Quinn at Books à la Mode. SO happy you—I can’t wait to pick up this book myself!

Please let me know the full US or Canada mailing address where you’d like your prize to be sent. If I don’t receive a response within 48 hours, your winnings will be forfeited and a new winner will be chosen.

Thanks so much for your support and participation! xo

Mind you, I have, of course, already read it (from Audible), and the dead tree book will likely go on a shelf or something, but it’ll be there to loan to people who want to try it. 🙂

Regarding the book, I can’t say I’m enamored of the dog’s name. I can say, however, that the plot is probably the least appealing part ofthe book, the characters definitely taking front and center, but that isn’t saying much, because the story is still a good one. It’s a departure for sure, but I also hope we hear more from LeAnne and ******.

Me too. I like short reviews. Also, no spoilers.

I am re-reading the end of The Right Side. I had finished it in the middle of the night, after being awoke by a dog incessantly barking which prevented me from going back to sleep, and my brain was possibly not fully engaged.

I am grateful for a sunny day. I just went and scattered dried leaves over the clay muck so we can get in and out of the house without gathering 5 inches of clay on our shoe s.

I’m wondering if Spence is thinking about a new Chet and Bernie mystery yet.

I’ve been doing research on the Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan disappearance and the photo that was found in the National Archives. Fascinating!

    Good morning all.

Really? I do wonder if we’ll ever find out what really happened to them?

B — I think when Spence was at The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale he was talking about the next Chet & Bernie book in a way that definitely sounded as though he was working on it.

Please keep us posted on your efforts re AE and FN; it seems like a fascinating story so far.

Here is a link to one of the best articles I’ve found online about the disappearance. It is by National Geographic and they give the “top 3 theories”:

A Short Review that says it all. But talk about Extremes between Yesterday’s Review and this one! We definitely Prefer this Shorter Version.

B: Isn’t there a program about that very subject on National Geographic this Sunday? Very much looking forward to seeing it.
    Thank You for the Link.

By the way, be sure to watch the film clip. There is a copy of the discovered photo. It has an arrow in a blue circle. Click on that arrow and the film plays.

HRH B we had seen this info and found it fascinating. All three theories are plausible. Thank you for including it.

Tired!…My friend has been dealing with all the decisions that go along with remodeling a bathroom and a kitchen, plus trying to put up with Mother and her surgically removed and replaced hip parts…grunt!…Sometimes life just gets over-whelming for those of us who cannot just lie about and snooze…sniff!

Care!…Today was hours and hours of putting up with a physical therapist who does not know how to use a computer very well…grunt!…Took forever for her to get Mother into “the system”. How many systems does one have to get into these days….grumble!
