Book #5: A Fistful Of Collars
And here’s a short excerpt:
“He’s not here yet,” Luxton said. “But this is where he’s staying during the shoot, a little fact we’ll keep under our hats.”
I was on board for that, although Bernie and Luxton weren’t wearing hats, and I never did. All I wear is my collar, the brown one for everyday and the black one for dress-up. Everyday means on the job, so brown’s what I wear when we’re collaring perps – and then they end up sporting orange! Not collars actually, but jumpsuits, even though they’re collared: kind of confusing. Let’s drop it.
Welcome Sasha and Smokey in Fla and Bud and Pokey.

9:45 am on December 20th, 2011
Remembrance! …. For those of you who weren’t around when Book #3 had not yet been released….snort!…The first name Spence came up with was, To Bark Perchance to Bite….gasp!…That was such a bad clumsy name that after much ado (I remember making quite a fuss) he changed the name to To Fetch A Thief, which was a perfect name for the book!…heh!heh! …Golinkas comment last night reminded me of this….snort!
9:54 am on December 20th, 2011
Good morning all. Have to go back and read Golinka’s comments, missed those.
Hope to finish up wrap and cookies today. Making about 10 doz date pin wheels. That should keep all the kiddies happy this Christmas.
We found a super bargin at a gift shop in town. Going out of business prices by one of the vendors. This is an item that Rio is going to want to buy in large quanities….GOAT’S MILK SOAP. Originally $5.00, now $2.00. Barb bought a bunch for stocking stuffers.
9:56 am on December 20th, 2011
Eighth!….This is udderly my favorite so far!….snort!

Is that the title for book five?
Thank you for the cards TYB and Rio.
Good morning all.
10:10 am on December 20th, 2011
Dear Rio:
The card is udderly fantastic!
10:11 am on December 20th, 2011
Greetings All!
Still no snow! 🙁
Great cards Rio, and Tyb!
Seems Spence is using a play on film titles for his books…Love it!
10:14 am on December 20th, 2011
Love your cards, guys.
Rio, we are of the same mind today: udders and goat’s milk. heh
Fist Full of Collars would be a good title, wouldn’t it.
10:15 am on December 20th, 2011
Belated welcome to you, Buddy. You’ve joined the best group of four- and two-leggeds ever!!
Rebecca: Wherever your travels have led, I hope you made it safe and sound.
10:16 am on December 20th, 2011
I like the new book title.
TYB: You know how to pose for a picture, my friend!
Tupper&Gilly: The Royal Mum off to another crazy day at CLL. Stretching her feelings of Good Will to the max.
Rio: Chet & Bernie’s latest adventure sounds like it will be the best one of all!
10:19 am on December 20th, 2011
Fistful of Collars…what an awesomely great title of Book #5! Love it Love it Love it.
Love the Christmas card, Tyb. Thanks!
Rio, we need to view all of your Dogs of Christmas cards, now that Mom is home. When we were on the iPad, we couldn’t view them.
Dilemna: Mom is reading Watchers, at the recommendation of a few of youse. But she is having some trouble reading it. Maybe it’s not the right time of the year for gore. This morning, she came to a part about a 13-year old girl and her dream horse. She is very much afraid that will not have a happy ending, so she can’t go any further. But she is not one to normally stop reading a book, especially one recommended by so many friends.
10:19 am on December 20th, 2011
Tyb: I agree with Bear. I haven’t seen one bad photo of you yet….
BTW: Rio, I thought I read about you having some videos that Rebecca and I haven’t seen……
10:25 am on December 20th, 2011
Bear!…I concur…snort!snort!
Rose!….I have no idea what you are talking about….sniff! …I manage to keep away from the camera pretty darn good, so no one would ever be able to shoot a video of me…never!…grunt! … Besides, I think those videos are all in SiberH’s head….wuffle!
10:28 am on December 20th, 2011
12-Dawgs!….I’m hoping the very last one will run through all of the 12 Dawgs of Christmas…heh!… The time is ticking away very quickly….yeep!
10:30 am on December 20th, 2011
Rio,
Your cards get better by the day; you’ll have a hard time beating today’s.
No, that’s not Jay on the bench. He’s big but not that big. As a matter of fact when
he did the card, he thought about putting (not me) and a arrow pointing to Santa, but he couldn’t figure out where to put it.
Thanks all for liking my picture.
10:32 am on December 20th, 2011
Love your Santa picture TYB.
We had to take a double-take at Rio’s card today. Good one!
I was up before Chet this morning, along with Melanie & the O.Howlers. Now it is time to hit the road.

10:34 am on December 20th, 2011
Rio: If Siber-H says there are tapes, I believe him. Unless of course, they has self-destructed. And, come on now, you look mighty handsome in your Curly Tail Quilling photo.
10:39 am on December 20th, 2011
Rose!…That photo was a one-off!…heh!
10:43 am on December 20th, 2011
We are all caught up on Dawgs of Christmas. Loved them all, especially those French Hens ha !
10:43 am on December 20th, 2011
Oh, and while we were going back in time, we watched the poem about Beau. We are all sniffling, especially Mom.
10:57 am on December 20th, 2011
Rio: I’ve seen many pictures of you that have captured your photogenic and handsome features. In fact, the other day at the top of the blog, you were dressed for a black-tie affair….
11:02 am on December 20th, 2011
Tie!…. Awww, that was the day of the Murder Mystery Dinner Party….snort!….It was out at the farm where Pepper lives…sniff!…Pepper is my best friend and co-hort in all things illegal…chuffle! ….Sometimes because Pepper drives me to distraction, my friend is able to photograph me. Never video though. I would not stand for that funny business…sniff!
11:05 am on December 20th, 2011
I’ll be Natasha knows where this video can be found….
BTW: Another picture of you was up top when I logged in.
11:07 am on December 20th, 2011
Pepper!…Here is a photo of me and my pal Pepper!…snort!
11:17 am on December 20th, 2011
Top!…All I ever see up-top is Alice and her yellow eyes…grunt!
11:45 am on December 20th, 2011
Morning once again. I kept checking the blog early this morning, but the new posting went up when I was dealing with the Counter Top Guys, then getting Jesse, then doing Poop Patrol, then making sure Zoe was okay, and then trying to figure out how many more gift bags I need. Whew. All of that since REALLY early this morning!
TYB, Looking good!
A Fistful of Collars . . . Wow, I’m wistful for this Fistful . . .
Collars are a big thing around here. Patsy had her red collar with the beautiful trim but puppies ate of the trim so it went to Mac. Then she had a beautiful blue collar with trim, but I decided it wasn’t girly enough, so that went to Franklin. Next was a green celtic collar, beautiful, but she decided it was time to wear her beaded “Patsy” collar from a certain Royals’ Mum and now the green collar belongs to Grace.
GOATS! Lot of goat talk today. I had this sent to me . . .

Staff, Thanks for the Prime Rib recipe link. Mom thinks she will try it.
Rio, That is my favorite Christmas card so far, also.
TYB Thanks for the Christmas wishes and card.
I wonder if this really is going to be the title of book #5. Im glad Spence has finished it and can enjoy the Holidays…me, I’m looking forward to the new book.
11:54 am on December 20th, 2011
I only have one collar, a very strong black one that goes with my coloring. Mom has so many tags on my collar, it would be difficult to switch collars back and forth.
Rose, I looked for those videos of Rio and couldn’t find them. They did exist. There was a really good one of Rio concentrating on a treat. That boy can focus!!
11:57 am on December 20th, 2011
Imagination!…Its all in yer head pal…heh!heh!…All in yer head…snorkel!
12:02 pm on December 20th, 2011
No, Rose…It is not all in my head.
Rio, I want to see a video of a pug screaming. I didn’t know pugs could scream. I can’t.
12:07 pm on December 20th, 2011
Pudding!….All youse guys who are making Prime Rib this year should also make Yorkshire Pudding…snort!…The drippings from prime rib are perfect for this dish…slurp!…My friend made this one year and it was Delish! (and she says it was super easy too!),…snort!….Here is a link to a recipe:
http://www.chow.com/recipes/28332-delicious-yorkshire-pudding
12:09 pm on December 20th, 2011
Yorkshire!…Pudding!…wuffle!
12:26 pm on December 20th, 2011
Prime rib and Yorkshire pudding. Yum!
The goat video was cute, and btw, they really do like to hop up on things. We have a bottom half of a Skykennel shipping crate in the barn. They love to jump on it, and everytime we go out there, one or two of them are standing on it. The little runt, Ingrid, even gets on her knees and crawls into it. She is the only one that fits.
12:26 pm on December 20th, 2011
Siber-H – I looked for theses videos of Rio too and I couldn’t find them either. Darn!
12:27 pm on December 20th, 2011
Melanie, that is a verycool video. Those kids are choreographed with the music perfectly.
Thanks for the yorkshire pudding recipe, Rio. We’ve always wanted to try that. About the prime rib recipe…whenever we have made a standing rib roast, we just stand it up on its bones. We have nevercut it from the bone and are wondering about the reason for that.
Collars. We each have 3 collars plus a harness believe it or not.
Dima has a red invisible fence collar, a red “travel collar” with all the IDs, rabies tags, license, etc., and a red-patterned slip collar for walking. His red harness is for hikes.
Meashka has the same number of collars, all in blue.
Sasha has a black invisible fence collar, pink travel collar, purple-patterned slip collar and purple harness…with matching purple leash.
Kat’s color is green, altho she does not yet have a harness.
Added to all those collars are the black bands with halogen lights that they make us wear when it’s dark, because Mom says “nothing good comes after dark”. She is such a drag on our hunting abilities.
12:29 pm on December 20th, 2011
O Howlers – Ha ha! It’s hard to sneak up on your prey with lights a blazin’.
12:31 pm on December 20th, 2011
Recipe!…You can probably search around and find a Yorkshire pudding written in American English…heh!….This is the first one I landed on and it might be a bit confusing…sniff!…I know she said it was very simple and it is amazing the way the batter rises and rises!…woooo!
12:32 pm on December 20th, 2011
Molly’s Mom, we manage to “lose” our lights at least once a week. They ordered a boxful now so they’ll have extras.
12:35 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio is trying to distract us from the videos with Yorkshire Pudding, but it is working. I want Yorkshire Pudding. Mom actually made it once from the recipe in the Joy of Cooking Cookbook. It was when she was reading James Harriot’s books. The entire family liked it.
12:37 pm on December 20th, 2011
Screaming!….Maybe someone will attempt to video Beau screaming…heh!heh!…That guys cracks me up…chorkel!
12:39 pm on December 20th, 2011
Yummy!
Yorkshire Pudding must go with prime rib. Must. We are putting our prime rib in at 200 or 225 for many hours. I’m debating whether to sear it first or not.
Oley Howlers: Thanks for reminding me that I hadn’t yet read the poem about Beau. I didn’t have time for sniffling when it was first posted. When I went back I found all kinds of things I had missed:
Tyb’s posting of the Flash Chorus in the Mall. Wonderful!
Staff’s posting of the Beatles Ticket to Ride in the Alps. Fun!
Melanie’s posting of B.Stover’s Retirement Cake: Fantastic!
Rio’s 5th Day of Christmas Card. Ringing!
CHarris’s posting of her description of fur flowers. Furry and Artistic!
Royal’s Mum joins the Union. Welcome Sister!
Jimmy Stewart’s poem about Beau. A beautiful Tribute!
Gee, you are an interesting and entertaining group.
12:53 pm on December 20th, 2011
SiberH: Since you are a civil engineer, I think you should start digging around for those tapes. They would make a great auction item…
Rio: That is a nice picture of you and BFF, Pepper.
12:55 pm on December 20th, 2011
Barb and Maggie. Re Robbie Forester, the book itself was undamaged but there certainly were teeth marks on the package. Those MGs are persistent, if nothing else.
Melanie. Great video, but were those MGs in training? Kind of a scary thought.
Wookie
1:08 pm on December 20th, 2011
Dawson, we missed a lot of those also…going back to read.
Siber, we are waiting for you to tell us if it is safe for Mom to continue reading Watchers.
1:09 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose, Sadly, if Mollypop’s Mom can’t find them, no one can. Rio must have been hitting delete buttons during the Hour of the Wolf.
They would, indeed, make a great auction item.
1:12 pm on December 20th, 2011
I love Yorkshire pudding…and for dessert, plum pudding with hard sauce.
There is a video of Rio. He’s with Pepper who is barking while Rio is staring intently at whatever item is being offered.
I’ve finished grading finals.
1:13 pm on December 20th, 2011
We remember that video.
1:17 pm on December 20th, 2011
Fellow Sibers, umm and Oh dear, Mom does not remember the part about the horse in Watchers. She has read the book at least twice. There is no hope for her.
All she can say is she thinks it is safe to go on reading Watchers. Dean Koontz would surely not do something drastic to an animal.
(whispering) She is guessing
1:25 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio: So, there IS a video……..
B: YIPEE!!! Is this your last official duty?
1:29 pm on December 20th, 2011
Congratulations B.Stover!!!!!
Now pour a nice glass of Cahors, sit in your Easy Chair and laugh!
Watchers: You can always do what I did and skip any of the graphic scenes. You don’t even have to put it on FF, just skip some pages.
Rio: I looked up Gluten Free Yorkshire Pudding. I might be able to do this.
Still trying to find the non-existent video.
1:29 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose: Yes. I’m now retired. (A cheer going out heard round the world….or at least in the vicinity of my easy chair!)
I also remembered that the item being offered in the video is a cookie. Rio told us later that he had some of the cookie.
1:31 pm on December 20th, 2011
LOL! Melanie, I am opening a bottle of Cahors for dinner!
1:37 pm on December 20th, 2011
More and more evidence is piling up, Rio…..
Congratulations, B!
1:39 pm on December 20th, 2011
Stover, Congratulations! You are really retired now and It didn’t take you long to grade those finals. We are cheering and howling long with you.
1:49 pm on December 20th, 2011
All I have to say after searching is there are a lot of Pepper farms in Rio.
Kitchen is DONE! Jesse did the painting of the top part. Will post pic soon.
1:50 pm on December 20th, 2011
LOL! Thanks guys.
1:55 pm on December 20th, 2011
We missed that little item psted by Bee at the end…finished grading finals. AWOOOO! Welcome to your easy chair, Bee (and even greater adventures)!
2:07 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose!….Oh, you mean the video that is mostly of Pepper keeping time to the music with her tail?…snort!….My friend shot that one around last Christmas when there was cookies on the table….heh!….I forgot all about it actually…sniff! …I dug it out of the attic just for Rose….snorkel!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FP6Q6UnFs0
2:46 pm on December 20th, 2011
Thank you for digging up the “lost” tapes, Rio. Looks like you were concentrating very intently on the cookies, or the camera person. Maybe more the cookies… 🙂
You should not be camera shy, you looked very handsome in the video.
2:54 pm on December 20th, 2011
SH: I forgot to explain that the reason it doesn’t take as long to grade final exams is because I don’t have to write comments on them. Generally, the students don’t want them back.
3:18 pm on December 20th, 2011
Stover!….Did you ever get to tell any of your students they were “SOL”?….heh!snort!
3:19 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose!…That video is not about me…sniff!…It is all about Peppers Tail…snort!
3:22 pm on December 20th, 2011
Back from the mini-mall. Nana’s friend always says you can plan on spending a C note every time you leave the driveway. How true, how true.
Hey! I remember the Rio & Pepper video also. If no one can find it it must have been a self-destructing tape, as Rose says.
Speaking of which – Melanie how do you come up with these full screen videos?
Yorkshire pudding has to be one of our all time favorites – yum!
3:30 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio! I swear I refreshed before posting. I did!
3:31 pm on December 20th, 2011
or maybe I was still on page one? pondering…..
3:42 pm on December 20th, 2011
Ta Da! Rio Begging For Cookies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndMn47rToEY
3:45 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio: Yeah, Pepper’s tail was sure rockin’ and rollin’ to the music, but I still want to know what had your attention…cookies or cameraman?
I have never had Yorkshire Pudding. 🙁
Anything made with fat, I’ll eat!
3:51 pm on December 20th, 2011
MollyPop’s Mom: Thanks for the video…It was priceless. Rio beeging AND speaking!!!
3:52 pm on December 20th, 2011
BEGGING and speaking
3:55 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose: You don’t know what you are missing! Yorkshire Pudding is must for the holidays (or anytime in our opinion) The name pudding is actually a misnomer – it is more of a souffle.
Howlers: Mom read Watchers many years ago. Like Siber, she doesn’t remember a part about a girl and her dream horse. It was the first ever Dean Koontz book we read and after that were hooked for life.
3:57 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose!…I don’t think that was me…sniff!…I would never beg like that. In fact I don’t remember doing that at all….grunt!
4:01 pm on December 20th, 2011
I enjoyed seeing the videos again.
May I tactfully point out that the videos were not “all in my head”. I have a good memory sometimes…other times, not so much.
4:06 pm on December 20th, 2011
SiberH: I never doubted you for a minute!!!
Masquers: I’m not very good in the kitchen, but I will have to attempt this. It looks very yummy indeed!
Rio: So, you have “selective memory?”
4:16 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio: I never mentioned SOL but one of my students did…in class…and I said that I knew what it meant.
I was going to say that it is a good thing that Pepper’s tail isn’t longer. Has everyone noticed that when Rio wags (or starts to wag) his tail, his entire back end moves?
Yorkshire pudding is easy to make….In fact, I think I’ll make it.
4:21 pm on December 20th, 2011
I remember that video. It is Rio begging. He has a very insistent whine. I think you had to be given a link to watch. I don’t think it is available to just anyone. Maybe we can talk HIS FRIEND into sharing the link again.
Hey friend????
4:22 pm on December 20th, 2011
Great Sleuthing Mollypop’s Mom! I knew that “Begging For Cookies” video was out there somewhere.
4:24 pm on December 20th, 2011
Staff: MollyPop’s mom put the link up, and Rio put one up of him and Pepper.
4:25 pm on December 20th, 2011
Dawson!…Have you gone to the Post Office today?…snort!
4:31 pm on December 20th, 2011
ummmm guess I am a little late. Good one Mollypop’s Mom.
4:48 pm on December 20th, 2011
DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND MY CONTROL, THE TOFFEE WILL NOT BE MAILED UNTIL LATER. MUCH LATER. POSSIBLY AFTER THE NEW YEAR.
4:51 pm on December 20th, 2011
Whispering: (Not really. I just throwing the MGs off the scent. Most were mailed yesterday, but a few were mailed today.)
4:52 pm on December 20th, 2011
Congratulations, Bee!!!!!!!
4:58 pm on December 20th, 2011
Thank you Wolfie. And…toffee!!
5:05 pm on December 20th, 2011
Okay, you stupid goats. Toffee won’t be mailed until after the New Year. Got it?
5:12 pm on December 20th, 2011
Wolfie: I hope you and your family members are safe and well.
Rio: Yes, I did go to the Post Office. It was a Zoo. I received no packages.
The man who lives in this house cooks his prime rib at 200 degrees for a looooong time. It is always delish. When I was telling him a couple other ways to cook prime rib, he took offense, (shoulda kept my mouth shut) now I am cooking the prime rib (at 200 degrees). What he doesn’t know is that I seared it at 500 degrees for 15 or 20 minutes before turning down the heat (because I loooove the crispy fat on the outside). This prime rib has been marinating for two days in his secret sauce which I do know has lots of pepper and garlic included. Because of the marinade he says we cannot use the drippings to make the Yorkshire pudding but I can still make gravy out of them to put over them. Now this makes no sense to me but I’m not saying a word or I will be making the Yorkshire Pudding.
His Mother’s Yorkshire Pudding recipe:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 t. salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Stir together flour and salt. Beat eggs until thick and combine with milk. Make a well in centre of flour and gradually stir in milk-egg mixture. Beat with a rotary beater or electric beater at low speed until batter is smooth (about 2 minutes) Pour about 2 Tbsp of the roast drippings into a shallow 9″ square pan or muffin pan, heat in oven until almost smoking hot then pour in batter to 1/2 inch depth.
Bake in hot oven 450 degree until puffed and brown (15 to 20 minutes gradually lowering the temperature to 350 for remainder of baking (about 15 minutes).
Yield One 9″ square or 12 individual Yorkshires.
5:16 pm on December 20th, 2011
Wolfie: You got me! I was afraid that something dire had happened.
5:34 pm on December 20th, 2011
Dawson!….sob!sob!sob!…The little box is lost in Canada…sob!sob!sob!.
5:37 pm on December 20th, 2011
Dear Plunderers,
Nice try.
Goats are smarter than you think.
Signed,

SQ and MMC – thanks for sunshine surprises on a cold, wet, gray day.
Bee – think of all the books you’ll have time for now. And you can share your reviews with us 🙂
Love, love, love Book #5 title.
When Mom starts to freak out thinking about Dad’s surgery (January 11), she looks at the sun catcher she was lucky enough to win in the auction, and remembers that you all are out there. Then she relaxes a bit. To quote Macy who quoted T. Tim: God Bless Us Everyone.
5:44 pm on December 20th, 2011
Melanie, we were trying to keep a secret yesterday, because some of the Plunderers have painfully slow mail delivery, but now we can say thank you so very much for thinking of us and for going to all that effort on our behalf.
And to Secret Santa (we know who you are): thanks to you too for making our Christmas extra special.
6:29 pm on December 20th, 2011
Pug in a box! I went to B&N today because I was looking for a cover for my iPaw and I ssw of all things a Pug in a Box! It is a cardboard cut out of a pug.
My brother has convinced me to go with him today to do Hot Yoga. I’ve never heard of it before until he told me about it. I think I’m in for a rude and sweaty awakening. Yikes!
6:34 pm on December 20th, 2011
We just got our mail and our special envelope from Melanie was in there. We are thrilled, thank you so much for thinking of us. We will cherish it. Don’t want to say more, in case some still haven’t gotten their mail.
Wolfie, you bad, bad dog! We were all set to go into a major whine till we read your next post. Hope it comes Thursday. Otherwise, Barb has to tell Jordy, my babysitter, HANDS OFF!
6:41 pm on December 20th, 2011
Our Christmas package arrived today! Thank you so much MMC and Spence!!! The little surprise gift is an absolute treasure. We cannot begin to tell you how much this means to us.
Wolfie: Whew! My heart skipped a beat there for a moment.
B: Will all your students be getting an A as a parting gift?
7:04 pm on December 20th, 2011
Bluecat: I’m looking forward to reviewing books! We will be thinking about your dad on Jan. 11.
Bear: No, the students will not all be getting an A.
7:07 pm on December 20th, 2011

The kitchen looks great, will post a picture tomorrow.

Rebecca: I have seen that Pug in a Box in my many visits to B&N. I always think of our favorite pug when I see it. I have also seen little pug puzzles. Hope your trip is going well. How are AJ and the pack doing at home?
Hot Yoga…Muy caliente! 🙂
Rio: I just can’t stop watching you beg for cookies. You really are a cutie!
7:37 pm on December 20th, 2011
I have to explain how I found that video of Rio begging. When Rio posted the video of him with Pepper that gave it away. Anyway, Rio looked so angelic and sweet in the Pepper video. He did look like Cousin Emma’s brother. When the video ended, it showed a riotheevilpug empty account, since Rio had already gotten rid of the evidence, but it said the account was started June 10, 2010. Rio’s friend had made the video and didn’t know how to secretly post it so Rio wouldn’t know. I suggested youtube. I didn’t have to look very far in our blog history for that first video.
8:03 pm on December 20th, 2011
MollyPop’s Mom:
I did notice the empty account, and the June date. Are there stillmore Rio video’s out there?
8:11 pm on December 20th, 2011
I see Rio and Pepper up top!
8:15 pm on December 20th, 2011
Very good detective work, Mollypop’s Mom, and it is interesting to know how you did it.
Bluecat, We will all be there with you on Jan 11.
8:16 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose!….Stop!…sniff!…I am not “a cutie” I am a rough and ready to tumble kind of guy…grunt!….Damn her and her video camera!…wheeze!
8:22 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio: You are a rugged, fierce, ready to roll, handsome “cutie.”
BTW: You can be GOOGLED….
8:28 pm on December 20th, 2011
Mr.Tibbs!…snort!… The package has arrived safely…sniff!… I was all already to see what was in it and then she read the dreadful words, “Do not open before Christmas!”….grunt!…Thanks a lot pal. She’s a stickler for that sort of thing, so we will not be opening anything for days and days and days….gruffle!
Melanie!…Please make sure that Zoe, bless her big heart, gets some rest before Christmas…sniff!… Ellie needs her to be healthy, as we all do…wuffle!
8:30 pm on December 20th, 2011
Collars: When my sister, brother & I were pups #2 son bought us matching collars, but in different colors. That’s Brandy on the left (blue) Kona in the middle (red) and me, Bear, on the right (green) Hmm…where is Brandy’s collar…..
8:32 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rose – There may be a lot of videos of Rio that we would like to see. His youtube account has them blocked and they can only be found by knowing the url. That’s why the date was important for me to use to look it up in our blog history. The url was in there when Rio’s friend posted the video while Rio was outside in the yard.
8:34 pm on December 20th, 2011
Oh, Bear, that is such a sweet picture.
8:40 pm on December 20th, 2011
MollyPop’s Mom: You are a super detective!
9:26 pm on December 20th, 2011
Bear, How adorable. You still look just like that!
9:27 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio,
It’s your gift to your friend, so you can tell her to open any time you want to. I, like you, get excited about surprises. It was easier to write “Do not Open” than it would be
to obey it.
9:28 pm on December 20th, 2011
I’m for opening immediately. If it’s something she likes, she would have 4 extra days to enjoy it.
9:31 pm on December 20th, 2011
Presents!…The truth is Mr. Tibbs, she doesn’t ever get that many things to open on Christmas, so I am going to let her wait…heh!…And thank you so very much my friend…snuffle!
9:33 pm on December 20th, 2011
Bear!…He never changed his appearance, he just got really really big!…snort! ….Great family photo!…heh!
10:08 pm on December 20th, 2011
Brave!….We are trying to be brave and watch another episode of Grimm…snort!… I forget the name of the episode, but it is the one befor the very last one…grunt! …I think it has something to do with the Three Little Pigs, but I’m not sure…heh!
10:13 pm on December 20th, 2011
At first I thought it was a pug shaped door stop, grufflesnort!
10:17 pm on December 20th, 2011
Doorstop!…Macy, what are you going on about anyways?…sniff!
10:30 pm on December 20th, 2011
Latkes! We had latkes for dinner tonight. Mom made them special for grandpa; they are his favorite. Very yum. Wookie
10:52 pm on December 20th, 2011
Wookie: I was just thinking about latkes. Tomorrow I will have latkes.
11:06 pm on December 20th, 2011
Rio, I would have given in on the cookie thing. You are a cutie!
Watchers and Strangers are mom’s favorite koontz books. You may have to skip a part here and there but neither one will break your heart.
11:06 pm on December 20th, 2011
Wookie: That is something we haven’t had in a long time. Do you have a special recipe or just made the traditional way?
11:16 pm on December 20th, 2011
Have never had those things. Are they Swedish in origin? We would be willing to try them too. Give us a recipe, please.
We will have to find out tomorrow, because we are going to bed. Night all.
11:19 pm on December 20th, 2011
Wolfie & O.Howlers: Great fans here of Dean Koontz.
Barb&Maggie: The book arrived! May as well wrap it. No way we can read it in 3 days unless we do nothing but.
Thank you Dawson for your Yorkshire Pudding recipe and to Rio for the link. We have copied them to the Dishlickers Cookbook.
Rio: We here haven’t watched the last Grimm episode or Sunday’s Once Upon a Time either. Lots of shows to catch up on. (And, books to read.)
11:22 pm on December 20th, 2011
Good night – signing off – Bear
11:29 pm on December 20th, 2011
Bear,
I looked for Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time. The “latest” episode shown was from the 11th of December. Something must have preempted the show which should have run on the 18th.I don’t have TV and Once is the only thing I watch online. I was looking forward to seeing this week’s show. The home pages says something about watching full episodes free “for a limited time”. I hope my time isn’t up and that there will be no more streamed shows.
11:55 pm on December 20th, 2011
geez- where does the day go???
Mama was off doing shopping. She wanted to get our Dad a SIMPLE computer pad. We love him, but we will admit our Dad is less than a technophobe… You might call him a technodope. Seriously – this is a man who cannot program a microwave to do anything but full power for the Quik Minit setting.
So an iPad was NOT happening. And she knew that he would hate a black and white thingie. So she went with a Nook Color. Someone, please tell her she did the right thing for a man who just wants to read books and magazines and look at stuff on the internet, but doesn’t know an Angry Bird from Plumber Pete.
Well – tell us tomorrow. Good night all
12:22 am on December 21st, 2011
You did good. I gave my mom a kindle and all she does on it is word searches, duh!
I know y’all have seen the boots Uggs. Bed Bath and Beyond carries, I kid you not, Pugz, boots for dogs.
Happy Hanukkah, Wookie and family.
1:38 am on December 21st, 2011
Whew, finally caught up with all of the postings for the past week. Mom is having such a busy time at work (a couple of the people that work there have had accidents and are out for a spell and that means Mom has to help cover other desks) and getting ready for Christmas is always busy, busy, busy. Everything has been exciting here.
Thank you, Melanie. Our delivery came yesterday and was a super cool Christmas surprise.
B., plum pudding and hard sauce…GAG!! Mom grew up having that every Christmas for dessert instead of pies. Her mom made it from scratch (it’s a northern or Swedish thing, isn’t it?). Hot fruit cake…shudder. But she does admit, that she like the hard sauce. She would take a tiny spoonful of the plum pudding and a big heaping spoonful of the hard sauce.
Dad is cooking prime rib too for the Christmas dinner. His always turns out great, but he is never completely satisfied. It should go great with TOFFEE!!
Rio, love the cards. Almost time to go North to Alaska! Go, AJ and Snowhook.

Just how much folic acid do you need to notice a difference in your hair growth.
Vitamin E is particularly beneficial, promoting healing, good blood circulation, and fortified
capillary walls. It becomes difficult to treat these scars and therefore acne must be
treated with the help of oral drugs and topical creams and
lotions.
