Bon Mot, Forgotten (Corrected Version)

Bernie got off the dozer. We walked toward the rubble pile, and there, balanced between two rocks, sat a human skull. Yes, I’d seen this skull before, just before that cave-in.

“Oh my God,” said Addie. “Do you think that’s my great grandmother’s sister?”

“We’ll need DNA to establish that,” Bernie said.

DNA – that came up from time to time in our job, but what it is exactly I couldn’t tell you.

We stood in front of the skull, all of us quiet. There were tears in Addie’s eyes. She took Bernie’s hand. Once Bernie told Suzie that some crimes are – what was it, again? I tried to remember.

Wait a minute! When Bernie and Chet first met Addie, Chet said: The great granddaughter of Addie Kline was also named Addie, kind of confusing, Addie something or other. At that time grand-daughter Addie said: My great grandmother’s twin Betty was a script girl on that shoot. She went for a hike and never came back.”

Betty was the script girl who went missing… Here, Addie is asking if the skull belongs to her great grandmother… Right? What's up? Is Addie a perp?

    Addie says Great Grandmother's sister…so I think it's correct.

Now what was the bon mot that Chet has forgotten? Was it in the novel or the blog?

Admin says to say the correction was made based on Diane's comment. Thanks, Diane!

Sorry folks, Bouncing about a bit here, trying to keep up with past posts. Just before bedtime, gotta ask about Wojo, Rebecca. Hope it's going ok. Who can forget Wojciehowicz! You spell it like you pronounce it…what's the problem? or was it pronounce it like you spell it…. You gotta love that.

    :)

Been busy at work. I really have to catch up on my posts.
