    Greetings!

It is Wose, the Zombie of Westchester county here!

I am glad to hear that Bentley seems to be holding his own.

I will step up on my ebola soapbox for just a minute. All flights going to and from places affected with ebola, such as Liberia should be banned. There are several countries that have already done this. Stepping down of the soapbox.

Stepping onto the endovirus soapbox. IMOHO, this new strain of virus coincidentally happens to be occurring in states where illegal children permitted to enter the country by the man who lives in the White House have been taken. Stepping off the soapbox.

Waaaaaah! I want to go to the Hobbit Hotel too!

Ahem. I have received an SDD from USPS saying that a certain delivery of Plunder On! calendars will be arriving at my doorstep today. Even though I have kept the first SDDs sent to me requesting calendars, since my pointy head cannot hold all the information it once did, you may want to send another SDD with your request. Pleas mark the subject line REMINDER.

It is hot and yucky here today.

    Enough venting.

Sending healing and loving thoughts and prayers to those under the quilt.

    Create a great day!

    Good morning all.

Rose, I mailed my check off to you yesterday. This is my reminder!

Personally, I don’t think this new virus is coming from undocumented children. I believe that viruses are mutating as a result of our overuse of antibiotics and chemicals in general.

They are also linking the tremendous increase in food allergies (I am talking about the kind that kill kids) to antibiotics.

And believe it or not, some professionals believe there is a link to allergies with the overuse of c-sections today. Babies evidently pick up good bacteria when going thru the birth process. Babies born in the natural process have dramatically lower incidents of allergies. The c-section rate should be around 8% and in some hospitals it is as high as 65-70%, That is one of my own personal soapboxes.

I don’t think there is much chance of dogs transmitting Ebola.

And I do agree with you that we should stop air traffic from some areas till this gets under control.

In case you hadn’t guessed, I am a strong believer in natural everything. We are creating big problems for ourselves – 75% of the foods you buy from the grocery store now contain GMOs, unless you buy organic.

Just this week Dow was given approval by the EPA to sell Enlist Duo, a powerful new herbicide to use with GMO seeds. New super weeds are evolving which are immune to Roundup, sold by Monsanto. Now farmers can plant these GMO seeds and then spray with Enlist to kill the super weeds and not the crop plants. Enlist contains 2-4-D which was used in Agent Orange, and has been linked to a multitude of health problems.

Don’t people understand that this is a vicious cycle and is not the solution?

    I will stop now.

    Checkpoint Announcement!

Finger Lake has been chosen for the Chet & Bernie/Spencer Quinn checkpoint.
This checkpoint was chosen because it has a lake and Chet and Bernie love water (as long as it is not being sprayed willy nilly on golf courses). Also this checkpoint has fingers and we like to keep Spencer Quinn’s fingers tippety tapping on those typewriter keys, writing a new Chet and Bernie mystery. This checkpoint has been fully funded by Spencer Quinn with a little encouragement by a stinky pug!

    What great ears Radar has!

So my life is getting even more interesting. Remember when I said that I contacted a person to foster a cat or pregnant cat? So it looks like I might be getting 2 sister “momcats.” The person is moving next week and the two cats gave birth three days apart. So I might be going from 0 cats to 10 in a very short time. The kittens are 3 weeks old and I will keep them 8 weeks. I will know more information later today. What is the saying– “ask and you will receive.”

Umm, I was just going to say that you might be following in Karen’s footsteps, until that last sentence, so maybe I won’t say it. LOL

That over spray is terrible. I thought they were supposed to leave a safety margin of 15-20 feet. Your grass will probably be OK if you throw some seed down next spring.

When I had the damage out in the country, the FS office sent some reps out from the company. They said it was drift and they would pay if my trees and bushes died. Of course they didn’t die, the flowering crabs lining the drive just lost half of their leaves (remember Agent Orange was a defoliant in Vietnam), shrubs and evergreens drooped and looked wilted, and garden plants got burn spots all over them. It really was an eye opener to me. I was surrounded on 3 sides by farm fields, but I didn’t realize when I moved there how much the farmers relied on chemicals. It wasn’t country life as I envisioned it.

I suggested the Norwegian Forrest cats (like our beloved Basil and Sage) or Main Coons which are quite large. I also suggested that they get two rather than one. It will cut down on custodial fighting between Lyla and Jack, plus the cats are happier when everyone is gone. Thoughts and suggestions, please?

O’Howlers: Sadie will be upstairs and cats will be downstairs. One will be in the bathtub downstairs and one will be in the laundry room. When the kittens get close to the adoptable age, I will introduce Sadie to them (clipping their little front claws tips first). Then if they get adopted into a house with a dog, it won’t be completely alien to them. Since Sadie will be vastly outnumbered, I am sure she will be on her best behavior.

Dawson: I never do anything half way.

Basil and Sage: I had one talky cat in my life for 18 years and do not need another one much less a choir.

BB, Your pretzels would be great right now with a cocktail. Can we order some too? If you make some for Rio, would it be too much work to do a few more?

    10:38 pm on October 16th, 2014

Rio, I have been thinking the same thing about much of the pitching in these games. It is a different experience watching this time of year.

  114. Riö -The Evil Pug
    10:51 pm on October 16th, 2014

Pitching!….Yes watching good pitching is a humbling experience. It makes me realize how damned bad our team is in this area and for so long…grump!…Maybe with the new management it will change. Except there is still the fact that great pitchers don’t want to pitch here because of the altitude and yadda, yadda….sniffle!

  115. Siber-H
    10:54 pm on October 16th, 2014

And the Rockies don’t have as much money as some of the other baseball teams.

Hope you guys that are asleep read this in the morning. Mom was making sure that the doors were locked and saw a strange looking deer in the back yard. She got the binoculars and got a better look. It was a young buck with his head stuck in some kind of fencing. He must have broken the fence to get away but a large piece in stuck around his head. Large being several feet square. He was trying to get it off but not having any luck mom tried to approach him so she could help but he ran off into the woods. Any suggestions on who to call in the morning? If the fencing is wood, it will probably break up but if it was wire, he is stuck. Mom isn’t sure he can get his head down to eat or drink.
