Belated Happy Birthday To The Hag
“Missed an important birthday on Saturday,” says Admin.
“Merle Haggard, seventy-six,” says Spence. “Among lots of other things, he does great impressions of other singers. Here he is with Marty Robbins, a half a century ago.”

Good morning all and Happy Birthday Merle.
Rainy day here in northern Illinois. PT at 10:00 then flower shopping. Loved Staff’s picture last night. We are thinking Pansies today.

Good Morning B&M!
Happy birthday, Merle!
Margaret Thatcher passed away.
Lovely day here in Westchester.
Go, Rockies!
Off on the search for more doggie coats. (I will also look for a sparkly pink one for my VBFF, Belle Starr).
Greeting to All!

Good morning all.

Good morning!
Video was great. Loved how Merle would just break in and sound exactly like Marty.
Things to do. First? Coco
9:38 am on April 8th, 2013
Barb is heading out now. Petco first, then PT, then Pansies.
Bee didn’t say “Who is Merle Haggard?” Hows come?

Bah!…Humbug!…grump!
10:15 am on April 8th, 2013
I agree with Rio. Okay–who’s Merle Haggard (and to be completely grumpy: Who cares).

10:53 am on April 8th, 2013
Sorry I missed yesterday, just a busy day, but I have to say the Rockies (with or without the apostrophe) are looking pretty awesome right now. Also, on the subject of bupkis (and I may be showing some age here), there was an episode on the original Dick Van Dyke show about “bupkis” which was the name of a song and which, if I remember correctly, was described as the hole in the donut. Just a bit of TV history here.
10:59 am on April 8th, 2013
I have pansies, lavender, poppies and some other plant growing. In my March optimism, I thought I would be able to plant them before I left. Not with 3 feet of snow still on the flower beds. Someone here says he will plant them but I fear not.
Melanie: I’m going to wish you a happy birthday now because I’m not sure when it is and I may not be near a computer. Happy Birthday Melanie!
11:07 am on April 8th, 2013
Awake here, but Not Dressed.
Cawfee has been served and I Smell Breakfast.
Barb&Magpie: We Love Pansies!
How long will it take to get your raised beds built?
Melanie: Did you/will you get the Dumb Waiter? How many lbs. can it carry?
How cum you picked up the Cake so Early?
Wose: Roger Ebert crossed over the Bridge the other day also.
Despite his Health problems in later years he kept on writing right to the end.
Siber-H asked this same question: Where (to whom) do we mail our checks for the jackets? C.Hobbit, Wose, Staff or someone else?
Going to check out today’s video with The Hag (???) and Marty.

I asked my physics prof friend about Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Here is a summary of what he said…I think:
Matter attracts and could cause a collapse of the universe. However, energy repulses, thus keeping the universe from collapsing. In this “race” energy is winning because the universe is expanding rather than stopping or collapsing. Both are called “dark” because we don’t know what causes either and we can’t “see” either; we can only see the effects.
11:31 am on April 8th, 2013
Bear, yes I was very sad to hear about Roger Ebert. The Prof and I watched their show regularly. I think what shocked me the most was he had just been interviewed for Brian William’s World News and 30 Rock, and he died the next day.
Phil Ramone, record producer extraordinaire has gone over the bridge as well.
11:36 am on April 8th, 2013
Thanks B.Stover. Your physics friend’s explanation is to a “expanding or contracting” point. snicker
Dawson, you have plenty of time from what I remember of your plans.
My birthday is on the 14th, but my baker will be on vacation. So the cake is frozen.
11:37 am on April 8th, 2013
BSD. Sigh, no dumb WALTER or dumbwaiter are in the near future.
11:40 am on April 8th, 2013
Poor Rio, and also Dakota. A real blizzard is on the way.
Meantime, it is supposed to be in the 70s here this week, and may even reach 80. Woo Hoo!

BSD and Siber-H: the coats purchased have been covered by the Plunderers who have found them. The concept was that the coats should be found this time of year on deep (or clearance) sale racks. Trust me, there will be future projects that will need your loose change or treatie monies. Keep tuned here or on your SDD.
-15 and snowing
11:50 am on April 8th, 2013
Merle Haggard…One of the best country singers ever! Unlike many songwriters, he has experienced the life he sings about. During the Dust Bowl in the thirties, his folks moved from Oklahoma to the area around Bakersville, CA. Families like his are the reason Steinbeck wrote, “The Grapes of Wrath”.
Masquers, with that forecast, I am worried about Rebecca commuting. Hooking up the dog team for the commute would be less scary than the highways. The team would get her through the mess.
Good Morning All
11:55 am on April 8th, 2013
Thank you C.Harris,. I wqill stay tuned for further info and Plunderer projects.
Blowing sand here today, but mom is not complaining because unlike some Springs, we have had some very nice days. Our blowing sand is once again the tailend of Rio’s storm.
11:58 am on April 8th, 2013
Drobny!…I hope she sues the pants off of those guys for slander…snort!
12:01 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rio, I do too.
Thanks for the link to the article, Melanie.
12:09 pm on April 8th, 2013
Two very strong ladies crossed the bridge today too. Margaret Thatcher of the U.K. and Ella Fitz of the HOH. Know she is running and romping pain and tumor free.
12:11 pm on April 8th, 2013
Peta! Weak Effort indeed! Don’t they do any investigative work BEFORE making Libelous Statements?
We hope she sues too. Grrr.
12:13 pm on April 8th, 2013
Sharon, We are sorry to learn of Ella’s passing. Hugs and good thoughts going out to all of you.
12:15 pm on April 8th, 2013
Herd of Hounds, We are so sorry to hear Ella has gone over the Bridge.
She is in the Best of Company.
12:37 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH! So sorry to hear you have lost one of your own. Sniff.
12:41 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH -sending hugs. So sorry to hear that one of your furry love bugs has gone on ahead. We know she will enjoy the green grass fields and bushes that grow bagels and dog biscuits which are abundant on the other side of the bridge.
BSD – when Mama was visiting Melanie the other day, Melanie said they had neither the money nor the space for a dumb waiter. Mama suggested they just hire a Dumb Walter to carry stuff up and down the stairs. Images of Franklin draped over the shoulder of a guy, being hauled up the narrow, steep staircase had everyone laughing.
Bee – we must say, it is a challenge to be smart enough to be your friend. In the words of Ron Weasley to Hermione, “You’re a little scary, you know? Brilliant…but scary.”
Hey – guess what? Stitches are out and the doctor says Mama’s bum flipper is (eventually) gonna be better than new.
12:52 pm on April 8th, 2013
Royals: A flipper soon to be Good as New? That is Great News!
Dumbwaiter Images: Franklin dressed as a servant (ala Downton Abbey) carrying a tray up and down the stairs. snicker.
12:53 pm on April 8th, 2013
Barb is back home. Had success with the pansies, but not the coat. Petco in McHenry had only small sizes left in stock and nothing the right color anyway.
HOH, Sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to lose one we love.
Roger Ebert’s passing is big news here, since he lived in Chi-town. His funeral is going on right now and was open to the public. He had been unable to speak since 2006, so he used a computer generated voice. Must have been difficult for someone who reviewed films to lose the ability to speak.
BSD, No idea of when the raised beds will be built. Hoping one will be done in the next week or two. It is hard, because Josh has very little time, and because Barb is very impatient. She wants what she wants, when she wants it. However, it would cost $75-100. for Eric to build one for her, so shen has no choice but to wait. Whaaaa
12:57 pm on April 8th, 2013
Bumpkiss!…Now I remember what I was going to say about bupkis…heh!…In the movie “Christmas Story” remember the Bumpuses’ (the Parkers’ hillbilly neighbors) dawgs? When I was reading about bupkis I was reminded of them and thought their name was spelled the same. But it is not…snort!…And that’s all I have to say.
1:23 pm on April 8th, 2013
T&G: I really like Hermione.
Melanie: I like the way the housekeeper in Elementary arranged the books. And “she” has an adam’s apple?
1:29 pm on April 8th, 2013
Sharon, very sorry to hear about Ella Fitz. SHe has many friends waiting on the bridge for her.
1:32 pm on April 8th, 2013
The Grapes of Wrath is excellent but my favorite Steinbeck novels are Of Mice and Men and Cannery Row, possibly depicting the same type of people.
Herd of Hounds: I am sorry. (I’ve been meaning to ask how many hounds there are.)
1:42 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH: Please know that Miss Ella’s spirit is whole and she will never be far, nor will she ever be alone on the other side of the Bridge.
1:43 pm on April 8th, 2013
Annette Funicello died also today. A lot of history leaving our culture.
2:13 pm on April 8th, 2013
M I C K E Y M O U S E. Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse. Sob.
2:13 pm on April 8th, 2013
I thought “Travels with Charley” was interesting for its time. A Steinbeck departure.
B: Herd stands at 4 (non) hounds.
Snow: That was one of the last things I told her.
Knew Annette had battled MS for years. Didn’t know how far it had gone. Famous ladies day.
2:30 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH — condolenses from Chevy Chase on the passing of Ella Fitz. I know that she will be missed but is at peace now. Been a tough few months on this here blog in that regard.
2:30 pm on April 8th, 2013
Interesting that Leonard just got fascinated with Annette yesterday, when he had never heard of her before.
HOH – we would love to hear more about the Herd. And the Peck.
2:35 pm on April 8th, 2013
Tupper!…I thought it was Gramps that got hooked on the Beach Blanket movies…snort!…My friend used to watch those all the time growing up…heh!
2:38 pm on April 8th, 2013
Bikers!…She would laugh hysterically at Eric Von Zipper and his Rat Pack bikers antics…heh!chorkel!
2:49 pm on April 8th, 2013
Annette. Wow. Mom is very sad.
T&G, the fact that Leonard just started watching Frankie and Annette beach movies yesterday is almost eerie.
2:50 pm on April 8th, 2013
Synchronicity.
2:51 pm on April 8th, 2013
We didn’t realize that you were talking about Leonard either. We thought you meant Gramps. Annette was probably the most famous of the Mouseketeers.
3:02 pm on April 8th, 2013
Tupper&Gilly: That IS eerie about your dad’s very recent fascination with those Beach Movies starring Annette & Frankie.
3:27 pm on April 8th, 2013
R.I.P. Annette
4:01 pm on April 8th, 2013
Sharon, sorry to hear about the loss of Ella Fitz.
Did she sing?
I was careful about my back yesterday. Unfortunately, my hip has given out. I have taken a pain pill. Not sure when you’ll hear from me.
4:26 pm on April 8th, 2013
T&G: Good on your mum. Bum flipper better>
4:33 pm on April 8th, 2013
Golinka!…Does this mean you will be smokin’ on those Pots again soon?…snort!
Melanie!…What the Hell!??…grunt!
4:44 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rio, Golinka smokes WHAT?
5:00 pm on April 8th, 2013
Barb&Magpie: It’s Legal Now!
5:10 pm on April 8th, 2013
Sharon: I enjoyed Travels with Charlie.
5:28 pm on April 8th, 2013
After spending the better part of the morning on the computer (and phone) doing work-related stuff…someone here is ready to take a much needed break.
HOH: What stands out in memory from reading Travels With Charley is the camper “washing machine”.
B & Melanie: Looks like we have some catching up to do on the latest episodes of Elementary!
5:31 pm on April 8th, 2013
Mom just got home. She told me that her radio station played the song of Poncho and Lefty on the way home. She liked that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SjwO17gsqU
5:34 pm on April 8th, 2013
Pancho and Lefty is one of the cooler songs that Steve Earle ever recorded. The absolute coolest is “Hometown blues,” which I play every time I go back to Phoenix.
5:35 pm on April 8th, 2013
You mean to say there is a song written about us? We bet it will climb to the top of the charts.
5:39 pm on April 8th, 2013
Ahem – we would like to interrupt this here blog to make a little announcement/prayer request.
Many of you don’t know that the Storyteller was badly injured in an accident back in 2008. Since that time, he has had two major operations on his back, along with multiple “procedures” to alleviate his pain. Unfortunately, the damage from his fall down a flight of concrete stairs has proven to be far more extensive than originally thought, and Leonard has needed a cane to walk for the past couple of years. Last September, his legs started really failing him, and the pain in his back got worse and worse. His doctor told him the choice would soon be a wheelchair, or very extensive surgery to replace the parts of his spine that are crumbling.
So tomorrow, at 6 am, Leonard will enter the hospital for a 12 hour surgery. Two surgical teams will be rebuilding 4 parts of his spine using titanium steel and assorted hardware. He will be in the hospital for about a week, and then will go to a spinal rehabilitation center for a month or more, depending on his recovery.
Are we nervous – oh, heck yes. But we both know that Leonard is strong, and that his surgeon is brilliant, and that this will finally be the end of a terrible chapter in our lives.
I KNOW Leonard is going to be well again. I have SEEN him after the surgery, able to stand up straight and walk without pain. He will have his life back again, and we will be able to do so many things that we haven’t been able to for the past 5 years.
Leonard didn’t want to ever be a whiner about his past years. And when we got the final word about when the surgery would be, it was right before Iditarod and Leonard didn’t want us to say anything to take attention away from the race. And then there was other stuff that was important, and he didn’t want to interrupt that either. But now, we are just a few hours away from the surgery, and I need to lean on my “family” for support and prayers.
My current plan is to wait it out at the hospital. I will have the computer there with me to help pass the time, and to keep people up to date. So….here we go. The first step to a new day.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled blog.
5:52 pm on April 8th, 2013
Leonard!…I will definitely be saying my powerful pug-prayers for Leonard tonight and all day tomorrow…sniffle!…My friend also has a “baseball-buddy” who is having major back surgery tomorrow. She dangled baseball tickets for June in front of this lady and told her she better be up and at it by then…heh!
5:53 pm on April 8th, 2013
Greetings from Lake Tahoe. We’ve been in lurk mode lately, but need to pop in and give our sympathy to HOH for the passing of Ella. And Amalia, I will be in prayer for Leonard. And I’m worried about Melanie.
5:55 pm on April 8th, 2013
We are so glad you shared this with us, even tho a little belatedly so. We could have been sharing this with you before now, and no one would have thought Leonard was whinning!
We will be thinking about you two, and will be sending out strong prayers all day tomorrow.
6:03 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH may be a new addition to the group but what we have learned, from you Amalia, and others, is that this group is supportive of all the other parts. We all are strong but can be so much stronger when we pull together (like a sled team!). So, Leonard and Amalia, you aren’t whining and you are in all Pawsitive prayers, thoughts and dreams. Dog bless.
6:05 pm on April 8th, 2013
I told Leonard that I would come to the hospital to visit him. He told me to come at 6am tomorrow.
I told him AFTER THE SURGERY! He said if they had to be there so should I. snicker
If I don’t move I don’t hurt. I’m hoping after the front goes through the pain will ease off. I need to get to the hospital sometime this week. (Whispering . . But I am not looking at his incision)
I also enjoyed Travels. I might have to dig out my copy.
6:09 pm on April 8th, 2013
Tupper’s Mom: My best thoughts to you and Leonard. Please keep in touch.
6:12 pm on April 8th, 2013
We will be praying for Leonard tonight and tomorrow.
It moved us very much when we read Amalia’s vision of Leonard being healed. It was like we were seeing it through her eyes.
Leonard is going to be pain free and walking agin.
Hugs and positive thoughts from us to Leonard and Amalia. All of us will be with you.
Love,
Siber-H and Mom
6:16 pm on April 8th, 2013
Hey, I really like Sharon’s comparing us to a sled dog team. That’s us!
6:19 pm on April 8th, 2013
But Siber – if you ain’t the lead dog, the view never changes.
tee hee
6:20 pm on April 8th, 2013
Well, The Hot One and I have decided we are going to be wheel dogs, so the view will be of fuzzy fannies.
6:24 pm on April 8th, 2013
Golinka: we will all be under the quilt with you. Lean away. Your family is here and you and Leonard are in our thoughts and prayers. The Storyteller can borrow our Lady’s brace if he needs it. It is a torso leg combo complete with sparkly stickers. Maybe it is best to make the offer when he is keeping company with the dancing giraffe—he might be more open to the idea.
6:26 pm on April 8th, 2013
Ten to one, Rio calls shotgun for the hood ornament position.
6:30 pm on April 8th, 2013
He can also borrow my walker and/or cane. His surgery makes Barb’s seem easy peasy. We loved Amalia’s vision of Leonard being 100% whole and pain free again. That made us teary.
6:37 pm on April 8th, 2013
Leonard and Amalia: you both have given so much to us these last couple of years, you will get it all back and more from the magic & power flowing through the universe to you. I’ll be thinking of you constantly tomorrow and am even going to figure out the time change so I can be with you at 6 am… maybe I should just stay up??? Hmmm
Another mystery of the universe: why do I persist in buying and eating dark chocolate when it makes me sick? Ugh. [I think it is because I keep stress eating: the race, the raffle… Furnace guy has been here 90 minutes and counting. GAH!]
6:40 pm on April 8th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: the pug and the princess will both lay claim to the position of riding in the sled. Hopefully both will fit or it won’t be pretty.
6:50 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH – I’m so sorry to hear about Ella, but she can now get to meet Mollypop.
Leonard – You are in my prayers. We all will be with you tomorrow.
Amalia – When you bring the patient home, you know he will need things. Get him a little bell so he can call for you a million times a day. I’m teasing, Leonard is so adorable and lovable, but he is a man, you know.
6:59 pm on April 8th, 2013
Royal Mum: Prayers from you and the Storyteller have always meant so much to me. The strongest prayers and love come to you and the Storyteller from the Prof and myself. We know the great inner strength of Leonard. We know through the love of his family, and the love of his Plunderer family, this humble and gentle man will be restored to good his good health. We are holding the Storyteller in our arms and our hearts.
7:04 pm on April 8th, 2013
RIO! We here in New York are sending strong prayers for your friends baseball buddy. She and your friend just have to go and see the Rockies kick some butt!
7:30 pm on April 8th, 2013
Team!…I am the Sled dawg…snort!
7:32 pm on April 8th, 2013
Amalia, I will be praying for Leonard and you all evening, and again in the morning. His surgery will start while I am in my car, so I will have him in my thoughts. I am picturing him made whole and painfree.
Everyone, meditate on Leonard’s pain leaving him, and good health being restored.
The Howlers and I love both of you.
7:34 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rio: You can run next to me.
7:37 pm on April 8th, 2013
Visions!…I bet Leonard will be having visions of Beach Blanket Bingo while he is under…snort!…Do you dream during surgery or are you just out!Out!OUT!?…grunt!
7:39 pm on April 8th, 2013
Jem!…See above buddy!…snort!…I am the Sled dawg and the Blanket dawg…heh!
7:46 pm on April 8th, 2013
Now I understand, Rio. You are not a sled dog, you are the dog who rides in the sled. You can keep track of the meat snacks.
7:52 pm on April 8th, 2013
HOH – I’m sorry you lost a member of the herd. Take care of each other now, and your two-leggeds.
Amalia & Leonard – prayer will be with you this evening and in the morning and until you’re all home again with your critters and Gramp. XOXOXO
8:04 pm on April 8th, 2013
Amalia: Please know that Leonard is in our Continuing Prayers tonight and we will be joining you in spirit at 6 AM tomorrow.
We visualize him Strong and Healed, able to do the things he loves.
The Plunderers have gathered ’round. You can Lean On Us.
8:27 pm on April 8th, 2013
Got a Marty Robbins story for you. He grew up in Glendale AZ in the 1930s, a block away from my mom. They were friends all the way through school. When he grew up and started singing in local clubs, he would always say “Hi Flossie” when my mom came in the door, in the middle of songs. We saw him in 1959 at the state fair, and told him at the stage door who we were. He said to say hi to mom. A year later when we were overseas, he had his big hit El Paso. When my parents wrote him to congratulate him on his success, the letter went to handlers. Such is fame.
8:27 pm on April 8th, 2013
Jem!…Now you’re talking pug-talk!…heh!heh!….Beau just had a complete melt-down because someone forgot to give him his after-supper greenie treat…grunt!…It’s really joint medicine, but he regards it as his special, high priced treatie…wheeze!…I have trained him well.
8:36 pm on April 8th, 2013
Amalia and Leonard. You have brought so much comfort to all of us in times of need that the very least we can do is offer our thoughts and prayers for a very successful surgery tomorrow. Amalia’s vision for your recovery rings true in every respect and in no time at all this difficult chapter will be a thing of the past. Also, there is plenty of room under the quilt and I understand that Tenzing makes a very fine pillow.
8:40 pm on April 8th, 2013
Wookie’s!…Paw types the truth…snuffle!
8:44 pm on April 8th, 2013
Plus, I brought snacks. Head bumps to Golinka and the Storyteller.
8:47 pm on April 8th, 2013
Storm!…Soon it will look like the scenes in the latest “Elementary” episode here…grump!…Yet another big snowstorm is predicted to blanket our state tonight…grumble!…This is getting very old indeed.
Snacks!…Where exactly will these yummy snacks be Mr. Tenzing?…wheeze!slurp!
8:52 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rio: Check the sled bag. My mama gave me some treaty money for pizza.
8:58 pm on April 8th, 2013
Mr.Tenzing!…No can do…snort!…I am snuggled downstairs with my friend (who is lucky to be alive tonight mind you) waiting for the big snowstorm to hit…grunt!…First the rain is supposed to come and then freeze into glassy ice on the highways…sniff!…Then the 9 ta 12 inches of snow will fall…burp!…Unless the snacks are delivered to my front door tonight, I will be pug-outta-luck…grump!
9:06 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rio: We can swing by and deliver some snacks.
Smoochers: Luna wants to know who needs a ride tomorrow? Some of the Smoochers will be in the operating room, others will keep Stinky Mama company, and then there is the matter of locating hellos rations.
9:23 pm on April 8th, 2013
Terry, Marty Robbins is mom’s very favorite when it comes to Western music. Mom went to a couple of his live shows and has all his Western music on CDs. There will never be another Marty Robbins.
9:30 pm on April 8th, 2013
Thank you all so much. We both feel love and comfort and support and we do know for sure that all will be well.
There is a story about the Storyteller and anesthesia that is pretty funny, but we will tell that another time, right Melanie?
Lets just say that because of his traditional ways, Leonard has never partaken of much medication, therefore even baby size doses tend to knock him on his behind. But he is very, very funny – he just doesn’t know it. He keeps telling me that I am the one in for a rough day tomorrow – he plans to just sleep right through all the excitement.
MP’sM -NO! NO BELL FOR STORYTELLERS!!! NO NO NO! (we kind of pity the nursing staff at the spine rehab place)
Good night my dear Family. The next sound you hear from this part of the world will be a sigh of relief and quiet sobs. And Leonard says to tell you that he will be back soon to tell you himself how much better he feels.
Hugs to each and everyone of you.

Tupper &Gilly you have to remind your Mom & Dad that they promised to kidnap (bring) Melanie to visit Rio’s friend and us in Vermont in October!!! So Leonard HAS to get better quickly!,,

Yeep!…What? Who is going Where and without Me?…grunt!

Road-Trip!…First road-trip to the City By The Bay…Wooooo!…I know I can stay up all night, but I don’t know if my friend is going to make it past 10:00…grunt!
10:01 pm on April 8th, 2013
Belle Star: your 2-legged needs to check out the puppies. Are any promising enough to be a part of the smoochers? I think Wose & Grizzly summed it up well as to the meaning of life and a puppy. Can Mama Luna blur one away for a bit to be in surgery/recovery with the Storyteller? I guess we might have to wait until they are weaned and named but surely one could be ready in time for the next lightning bolts?

SiberH!…I am not worried – and this worries me…heh!…No, really I feel very confidant in our team tonight. I feel so much better than I ever had before a Giants game…chuffle!
10:12 pm on April 8th, 2013
I talked to the Storyteller a bit ago. He sounds nervous, and he sounds good.
I am now headed under the quilt. Going to be tight fit in there. Hey Tenzing, how many Plunderers can use you for a pillow at one time?

Some of the Giants pitchers are nothing to sneeze at.
Rio, You can do the not worrying for both of us.

A busy day here today so I just got back to the blog. Sharon and your Herd of Hounds we are sorry for your loss and glad that Ella Fitz is pain free now.
Amalia, I am glad you and Leonard have shared your burden with the blog. I know how helpful they (we) are when troubles come down upon us. What I don’t know is how we are going to do without your wonderful prayers in this stressful time. They have helped me many times.
Leonard there is a lot of love coming at your from the west. If Golinka says it will be OK then we are happy. I trust in her vision.

I feel bad for De La Rosa. If he is nervous, I don’t blame him.
10:45 pm on April 8th, 2013
Melanie: You’ll have to take turns.
CHobbit: Luna is in negotiations right now with Bonnie to take one of her bairns on a field trip. It could go either way right now. Mothers have the negotiating upper-paw when it comes to their own pups, but Luna has negotiation skills that I’ve rarely seen matched.
10:46 pm on April 8th, 2013
Ha! That last one was from me. I was thinking of Melanie when I tip-tapped-typed in the ‘name’ section.
10:46 pm on April 8th, 2013
Naw!…DeLaRosa will figure it out – he always pitches very good in San Fran…grunt!…Our guys need to settle down and git’er done. The bases are loaded with Rockies for Pete’s Sake…heh!
10:55 pm on April 8th, 2013
Tenzing: how many puppies are there to chose from? I forget the size of the litter and the male/female ratio. How old are they now and has your 2-legged picked a “theme” for names? Any more pregnancies planned this year (it was planned, right)?
10:59 pm on April 8th, 2013
Rose!…Got to hold those pups!…heh!…And Grizzly too. Just saying….snort!…I think they should be named Rio Junior 2, Rio Junior 3, etc….grunt! …How many are there anyways?
11:04 pm on April 8th, 2013
SiberH!…Seeing that large “Oracle” ad right behind the batters is making my friends stomach lurch!…grunt!…She has to deal with their crap software every day now and totally hates that company…grump!
11:07 pm on April 8th, 2013
There are four pups, three boys and one girl. My Lady is working on a theme for the pups. She thinks she has one named for sure, but doesn’t want to say until she is sure. Lefty, the father has suggested Lefty Jr. Lefty the Third, Other Lefty, and Girl Lefty as possible names.
The pups claim they held Wose and Grizz to make them feel comfortable and welcome. Who was holding who? You tell me.
11:32 pm on April 8th, 2013
I hadn’t noticed the Oracle ad.
The giant Coke bottle is bad enough bcause it is a nice view looking out over the water,
CarGo homered!! Not an easy thing to do in that park.
I knew this is would happen. One of us is falling asleep. It isn’t me.
Night All
11:33 pm on April 8th, 2013
Tenzing: Is this the first 4-pup litter since OFA got involved with Snowhook? So…the Chet litter– Spencer, Peter, Abraham, Quinn(ita) OR Bernie, Charlie, Iggy and Leda (except no one would like Leda so maybe Suzie). Or a litter named after everyone’s favorite snack foods eaten while watching the Iditarod: Slim Jim, Swede (swedish fish), ….
Phooey, have to do some work now.
11:34 pm on April 8th, 2013
Loenard will be in our prayers and thoughts tomorrow.

11:39 pm on April 8th, 2013
Hobbit!…whew!…Naming things are not your thing…grunt!
11:54 pm on April 8th, 2013
Names!…I like names like Shredder, Splinter, Ralph, Leo, or April…I truly cannot think anymore – we are off to bed…wheeze!
12:00 am on April 9th, 2013
I would have guessed Rio liked names like Snort, Mine-not-yours, Wheeze and Beer.
1:15 am on April 9th, 2013
Hmm. Not the first litter of pups. I fondly remember Thing One and Thing Two.
1:53 am on April 9th, 2013
Tenzing, you had me confused for a minute there. Was I there or here? Who am I really? I swear these pills took me for a Existential trip to AK.

Golinka: I hope you see the prayer of my heart before Leonard goes into surgery. We are with you.
Dear Creator,
We thank thee for the friend we call the Storyteller, for the guidance and strength he and his wife have given to our chosen family. At this time we ask for a special blessing for our friend and those who love him most. Please bless them with calm and comfort as they walk the path of the unknown. Please bless that this path of the unknown will lead to full recovery where our friend will enjoy the wonders of a healthy spine and a restored body. Our friend is a strong man. His strength of spirit is evident to those who meet him. Please, Creator bless that soon his strength of spirit will be matched by strength of body.
Please guide the hands and the minds of the surgeons, nurses and other medical providers as they treat our friend. Please bless that they will know how special he is to us.
Creator, please calm and comfort Amalia as she waits for the Storyteller’s recovery to begin. Please pass the time quickly and bless her worried heart. Please help her to focus on the vision of the Storyteller in days to come. We ask that her vision will be realized.
Creator, we thank you for our friend, the Storyteller and the blessing he and his wife are to this family. Please bless and keep him safe, calm and comfort them, help and heal him and let both of them feel of our love and support.
Amen.

Good morning Bluecat.
Bear, I have been sending positive thoughts and loving prayers since I woke up at 5. I will be looking at the clock every hour. Plunderer prayers are strong. The Storyteller will be pain free and walking like the proud and gentle man that he is.
7:34 am on April 9th, 2013
Good Morning BlueCat & Herd of Hounds.
Wose: We are Holding Your Vision and Amalia’s too.
It is a True One.
7:40 am on April 9th, 2013
Good Morning Sharon and HOH’s. I know the Royal Mum and the Storyteller can feel the love of their Plunderer family.
8:12 am on April 9th, 2013
Yes we can feel the love and prayers and support. They have just taken Leonard into the OR. While we were waiting, I read him all your comments, and Bella’s beautiful prayer. Just as we finished, the nurse came in to put the first medicine into his IV. Leonard drifted off to sleep with your prayers in his ears, and a smile on his face.
To be honest with you all, there are tears going on here. He has had such a struggle with this injury and the pain, and while this is a scary operation, I have a very clear vision of us walking the beach this September, and him WALKING without pain.
It will be a looooong day – the surgeon has told us that it will be about 8 or 9 tonight before the operation is over and he is in the recovery room. Thank you all so much for being here with me – I can feel your presence, and I know all will be well.
8:24 am on April 9th, 2013
Amen. We are all with you, Amalia.
8:41 am on April 9th, 2013
Amen. Amalia, near or far, our love, prayers, and our vision of the Storyteller walking pain free is as a clear of a vision for your Plunderer family , as it is for you.
We love you both!
