On Sundays, we do beginnings, taking a look at the start of a Peter Abrahams novel, including those written under the Spencer Quinn moniker. How about we Behind the Curtain, second in the middle-grade Echo Falls series? Unlike the Chet and Bernie series, Echo Falls should probably be read in sequence. Today is NFL football day, too, of course – and football is important in Behind the Curtain. (I love writing football scenes!)

[“… Abrahams’ exceptional overlay of detail, especially descriptions of the particular stresses and the goofy occurrences that mark Ingrid’s experience as an eighth-grader, makes the story very convincing as the action builds.”
– Booklist, Starred Review]

Ingrid Levin-Hill sat in math class, her mind wandering pleasantly.

    Good morning all.

    First snow!
Winter season actually started last week when Sadie was too hot inside and I layered up and kept the deck door open enough that she could go in and out. Right now she is on the deck under the table on her dog bed. Winter is her favorite.

    Good day all.

I wonder if OFA is as much of a pushover as the rest of us are with our pets.

In the Spoilt Pet Test I would add:
You share your meals with your pet
You share pricey salmon and cuts of meat with your pet
    You give tummies on demand
You buy clothes for your pet

Hobbit: I am laughing at the Spoilt Pet Test. Sadie and I are of the same cloth…I love the winter too!

    Good afternoon to all!

Spoiled pet test, how ridiculous! I would never, ever buy clothes for my girls.
