Beginnings
On Sunday we’ve been doing beginnings – all the Peter Abrahams novels, including those written under the Spencer Quinn pen name. Here, from 1994, LIGHTS OUT (first of what might be called the prison novels – the others are END OF STORY and DELUSION. Also probably the second-most Bahamian of the Abrahams novels, after PRESSURE DROP. And an Edgar Award best novel finalist).
[“Consistently interesting and suspenseful, his thriller’s shocking outcome is revealed only on the very last page.”– Publishers Weekly]
Man is the word. You can’t stop hearing it when you’re inside.

Home Sweet Home. Back to Sadie wanting in/out during the night and kitties taking turns on the bed with me. Very tired but my day is on its way.

Evidence points to Sadie being on the couch while I was home. She is trying to blame the black cat but Denali prefers the back of my new recliner. Sadie was on her bed in the garage when I got home. She didn’t recognize me by sight or by voice but when I started giving her tummies and pets, she remembered me. She is aging.

HRH,B: Grizz and I were just discussing the use of “man” in the big house. He says it isn’t used any more or less in the big house than on the outside. Interestingly, Grizz says that “man” seems to be cultural, used more by the African American population than any other.
Hobbitz: Glad you are safely back home. I am laughing at the black hair on the couch situation.

Hobbitz: For Sadie you were Gone a Very Long Time. Looks like she was Evicted from the house by the Cats.
Glad you are Home Safely. We followed your Flight last night until it landed in Anchorage.
