Beginnings

Sunday is for beginnings, when we take a look at the start of a Peter Abrahams novel, including those written under the Spencer Quinn moniker™. Since Bark To The Future is now on the loose, the very first sentence seems appropriate.

“Let’s see what this baby can do,” Bernie said.

    Good morning everyone!
Really like today’s photo. I wish I could get the Herd of Hounds to lay like that with the book so I didn’t have to read it to them.
Enjoy this Sunday almost midway through August.

Finished the new book yesterday. Don’t know how WTAFP does the “read one chapter a night” thing. I think it’s the best one yet!!

    Loved it!

I’ve given up the read one chapter a night thing. This go around it’s usually read until a certain AM and if I start earlier, I just read more.

The key to reading one chapter a night is to read it aloud to your wife and dog right before going to bed at night.

WTAFP, you are so right except for the people involved. Here the DDD listens one night and then the mommy dog does the next night. We all get a hoot out of sharing this way! We don’t get through the book quickly but we enjoy it for several days.

That method can only be accomplished if the book is heavily edited.

For instance, substituting asparagus for Slim Jims and brussel sprouts for steak tips.

Diana wants me to buy asparagus on my next grocery run, just in case she might like it.
