BEA

“Hear you were at a party last night,” Admin says. “Hope you weren’t the last one out of there.”

“Not close.”

“What did you drink?”

“Red wine. A malbec, I think.”

“Meet anybody?”

“Kirstie Alley. She’s got a book coming out.”

“Publishing biz. Gotta love it.”

Welcome Tova.

    March 10th; Worm Moon
    April 7th; Pink Moon
    May 5th; Flower Moon
    June 2th; Strawberry Moon
    July 7rd; Thunder Moon
    August 4st; Sturgeon Moon
    September 1st; Blue Moon
    September 29th; Harvest Moon
    October 27th; Hunter’s Moon
    December 1st; Beaver Moon
December 29th; Cold Moon – YULE with the Wolves

    Good Morning All!

Rio, I am so loving the pictures you are posting of your friend’s Lil Bouquet project in progress. It’s amazing how much intricate work goes into each little flower.

T&G: I was beside myself last night when I got home!!!! A package from the Royal Mum herself was at my door….and inside my very own Dreamcatcher!!!! It is beautiful!!! Thanks youse guys for packing the precious cargo so well.

Someone has to tell Spence/PA that he should go to the end of Row 2200/2300 across the room from the autograph booth. Lets see that is near the Easy Pub booth and then he should jump up and down and wave.

Rose – you are welcome for the packing job. We want you to know that Mama used the packing supplies she confiscated from us last time we were trying to send the Corgis on “vacation”

    What the heck is Malbec?

Rio, this morning, we looked at the pictures you posted last evening. We are amazed at your friend’s patience and dexterity. And did we tell you how much we are loving our Old Dog quilling? Both the quilling itself, and the lovely frame/box that it is in.

Yes, Siber does call all of the full moons the Wolf Moon. But apparently these wolves do not!

If Kirsty’s book is about her weight loss, we’ll skip it. No matter what diet she follows, she seems to put the weight back on.

Rio: Looking forward to another class in the Art of Quilling this evening. What a lot of work! Your friend must have the patience of Job.
BTW: Thanks for the live stream link to the Expo. We didn’t see Spence either.
Kristie Alley has had quite a struggle with her weight. Wasn’t she doing an ad for Jennie Craig at one time and became intimidated by another actress. Valerie Bertinelli, doing the same type ads?

Bear: Malbec, Cabernet, and Merlot are different varieties of red grapes all used to make wine. This is similar to different varieties of apple, for example. (Does this answer the question?)

  34. BearSpiritDog
    2:12 pm on June 7th, 2012

B: I understand the different varieties, but wondered about the differences in taste. We usually drink Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, but don’t have much experience with those that are labeled simply, Red wine.

  37. B.Stover

“Red wine” would be made of a variety of grapes, none being a higher percentage than the other. Anything labeled “Cahors” must have a certain percentage of the Malbec grape in order to have that name. There is a difference in taste also. Cahors, for example, is very dark red and “rich and smooth.” Merlot is a bit lighter in color and “texture.” Zinfendel is the only American red wine that is closest to Cahors I think.

  38. B.Stover
    2:30 pm on June 7th, 2012

    That should be Zinfandel.

  39. Barb & Maggie
    2:32 pm on June 7th, 2012

Bee, don’t a lot of the Malbec grapes come for Australia?

Also, we always thought anything labeled “red table wine” was a lighter tasting wine, and not as full bodied as a cab or merlot.

Barb’s bro is a wine (and coffee) aficionado, and he loves, loves, loves Washington state wines.

Weird, Barb & her bro both like good wine and coffee and are big dog lovers. Their sister, who is half way between them in age, likes tea, beer and is not an animal lover. She is also a PIA, but that’s beside the point.

Sooooo, Rosalyn wasn’t looking too great and I told Zoë. Zoë made it downstairs just as Ros gorked over everything. Hmmm. Kept an eye on her for an hour while I was working with Tony.

Skipping to the end . . . Ros and I have just come back from the vet’s. She will be going back tomorrow. She has had TWO HUGE things for fluids, a shot for pain in her tummy and a shot to make her brain from sending the signals to throw up.

Whew, I’m zonked. She’s zonked. Zoë’s zonked. She does NOT, I repeat does NOT, have bloat. She ate something that is making her a sick puppy.

Ten!….Cut twelve 2 inch pieces of thin wire. Cut twelve 6 inch “stems”. She bought this wire for stems at a hobby shop….snort!….Take one of those little buds that we made the other night and very carefully put the 2 inch thin wire through the little bitty hole in the middle of the bottom of the bud. Then bend the end of the wire so it cannot slip back out of the buds bottom….heh!….Like this.

    Wire!….In the Bud…sniff!…A closer look.

    9:16 pm on June 7th, 2012

Eleven!….Pull the wire to the bottom of the bud and put a dollup of glue on it….snort!…This will secure the wire and hold the bud in its shape…sniff!

    9:18 pm on June 7th, 2012

Twelve!… Now wrap the wire at the bottom of the bud around one of the Stems….sniff!….Glue the point where the bottom meets the top of the stem…snort!

    9:21 pm on June 7th, 2012

Thirteen!….Wrap the whole stem starting at the base of the bud with plant tape….sniff!…Not sure what it is really called, but it is used to make flower stems because it is sticky but not too sticky…grunt!…Whatever that means.

    9:25 pm on June 7th, 2012

Fourteen!….Now take the flower and glue it to the bud. …snort!….The size should match so the bud and the base of the flower go together perfectly…heh!heh!…In Dawsons case this might be tricky…snorkel!

Rebecca – checked, responded and twirling

Rio – your friend should think about STARTING a quilling club…or teaching a class.

Rio’s friend’s work is so beautiful. Hard to believe she finds it relaxing, it is so intricate. I am glad I got those cards and kept them last Christmas. I will never part with them now!

We had a long day at CLL, so will be turning in. Sweet dreams everyone.

Rio – just think- two members of the club, two Pugs that like laps….how good can it get?

But really – doesn’t your friend get her pretty paper supplies from a craft store? The Michaels we have out here has classes – and if someone asks about a certain type of class, they find a way to have one. Tell your friend to ask about a quilling class and if they don’t have one, she could teach one. And YES, she IS expert enough!

We kinda knew how much work goes into them – not the exact how to – but we figured there was quite a bit of time involved.

Did ya hear about the guy in Oregon who called the police to come protect him from the cougar that was in his backyard? Turned out it was a Maine Coon Kat.
Sheesh – how embarrasing must that have been?

When Mama lived in Pennsylvania, some friends from New York City came out to visit. One of them went out the car in the evening, and came running back in the house, screaming about the “biggest dam rat” she had ever seen. It was just the local opossum, wandering through. Oh well – city folks, ya know.
