What an easy quiz – what they all have in common is that they are all grown men who willingly put on silly clothes and play a kids’ game in front of a lot of peanut-munching, hot dog-eating, beer-drinking rowdy crowd of people (and some baseball fan dogs).
When we win, we will have our book sent to our local (little) library, where they don’t have the sense to carry books by the Mighty Quinn.

Mom has actually taught me to some when called by using the word for treat instead of the word “come”. The big drawback to this method is that she has to have a treat in her hand to give me when I perform this wonderous trick. Mom always has treats in her pocket when we go to the dog park.

We read the horrible article by the HSUS, but couldn’t go any further and watch the video. The problem goes deeper than just the companies that operate large scale. What is wrong with people that abuse baby animals for “fun”? There really must be a lot of sick people who are attracted to these jobs. It is an indication of big problems in our society.

Rose, no we don’t have pictures. We tried to get pictures of the baby donkey a few weeks ago and were not successful there either. The mamas do not encourage their babies to get close to someone they don’t know.

Hey Sammie – we have a solution for your hawk problem. Remember Tupper and Gilly have mentioned that we have a Great Pyranees as a housemate? Why don’t we ship her out to you? Just tell those nasty hawks that she is your Giant White Maltese big sister, and she will gladly take out any hawks who bother her little Princess. Then when you go for walks, you can just walk right along under Callie, and those dam hawks will never even know you are there!

Rio: I’ve been busy at my busy place all day. In fact, I’m still here and if I don’t get back to it, I might be herein longer. I’m hoping to wrap up my work in the next little while. I’ve been trying to book travel for work all day—I’m going farther north than our own Hobbit Harris lives— later this week and can’t book a hotel room because my business credit card expires at the end of this month and the bank failed to send me a new card. My boss who lives in the town that I will be staying on my way to the far north village has to meet me at the hotel so can use his card. Gah!

Bella – most of the time if your card is expiring, you can just give the next renewal date with the same number – for example, if your card is expiring on May 2012, and you know you get a t3 year renewal, just tell the hotel the same number with May 2015 and it should fly.

Tiny! Rio, you said it. CHH is a speck of a thing especially in that picture standin next to AJ. It was so wonderful to have her at the start of the race.
Herbs: I tried that but they want me to present the card when I check in. It will have a different security code on the back which I don’t know until I have that card in hand. My boss just emailed me and said he drove to the hotel and paid for my room. That was very nice of him. He an I agree—what was the point of him upping my limit to an insane amoun if I can’t use my card?!?!

Everyone at Mom’s library was sad to hear about Maurice Sendak. The Wild Things are the central theme of our library — in fact, our library cards feature Max hanging in the trees with two Wild Things! The children’s room at the main library has a Wild Thing theme, with a mural on one wall, and huge trees growing in front of it. There are free-standing Wild Thing cutouts — Mr. Sendak had never shown the backside of the Wild Things, so he had to come up with designs for them, then his assistant came here to make them. Our library is the only one in the whole wide world that Mr. Sendak gave permission to use the Wild Things!
