    Good day to everyone!
Stories about adventurous dogs are great when the stories have happy endings!

Bailey is a very lucky dog so many were looking out for him. Especially as he was running through the tunnel. And to be reunited with his family after ending up in another state.

This is why we microchip our loved ones. Thankfully, I have never had to track down one of the Nation Within using a microchip. However, my parent’s previous dog, Candy, did have a mug shot on the refrigerator for the longest time after my Mom had to bail her out of jail. She decided to take herself off on a joy walk and an out of town visitor on the next street over who didn’t know her turned her in to the dog patrol. She got vaccinated (again) so not sure if she learned her lesson. She was such a friendly dog, sometimes she just wanted to go off visiting her friends and would do it herself if everyone was busy. She knew the route and everyone knew her. Thankfully, Dolly is a homebody. I don’t think Diana would go far but expect Freyja would just keep exploring until she was lost. She is lucky we live where we do. If she were to get loose in some parts of the country, she could be mistaken for a coyote or wolf and shot.

Did everyone hear about the report of a wolf pack roaming around? Turned out it was a couple of Saint Bernards that had escaped their yard. St. Bernards? Mistaken for wolves? Seriously?

A very beautiful day in this neck of the woods. Grizz and I did some turtle watching today.

    Good afternoon to all!

We try to make sure the herd has chips but it doesn’t always take.
We tell neighbors our Newfies are “Tennessee long tailed black bears” even though the only Bear with a long tail (8 in) is an Asian Sunbear. Children love the Newfounds and will get right in their faces. Adults are weirder.

Aren’t Newfies big Teddy bears? Seems the bigger the dog, the more they are convinced they are lapdogs. Whereas the smaller the dog the more convinced they are rabid wolves. They don’t call them Jack Russell Terrorists for nothing.

Seems the St Bernard/Wolf mixup can be forgiven a bit. It was security camera footage and at a distance. Still, the deputy knew exactly who they were as these “saints” have been sinners before. Their owner just got fined $200 the last time they got out.
