Back In The Valley

Colonel Bob came down to St. Lucia and flew us back home. Have I mentioned Colonel Bob? He might be in Thereby Hangs A Tail. He and Bernie go way back. They talked a lot, something about Colonel Bob’s son. There’s some problem, but don’t ask me what.

Bernie read for a while on the plane. He’s got this new book, Pops, all about Louis Armstrong. He says it’s a real good book, but kind of sad. That gave me the idea of maybe giving it a little chew, but I never got the chance.

St. Lucia was great but it’s great to be home, too. Right now I have to go sniff around the whole property.

You go Chet, It's very important to not only sniff around the property to see who's been there, but also to mark higher than anyone else has marked.

Still waiting on book. Zoë's 1/3 of the way through.

Hard to wait, I'm thinking about giving it a chew, maybe she'd let me have it then.

I'm maybe a quarter done. Loved something on page 36– laughed out loud and read it to my husband while he was in the shower.

Wojo and Henry, our foster, are out tearing around in the snow, their favorite thing, apart from all their other favorite things, of course.

Glad you guys are back home safely Chet – I agree, it's top priority to get all that sniffing done. Well, here's me anxious for Mom to start reading! She had too much to do to start right away, but got to it eventually. We are loving the story a lot – but Chet, didn't know human blood could be that addicting, sounds like the Volturi from that other series Mom read, hmmmm. Anyway, she's only got through Chapter 1, says we need to make it last! Oh well….thanks everyone for your nice thoughts about my car problem, you guys are a fun and awesome group (what friends of Chet wouldn't be?!) luckily for the cold thing, Mom does put a nice sweater or sweatshirt on for me. Did you know they make snuggies for dogs? Santa brought me one, it's the best! Wookie, I'm about 4 1/2 (no one knows for sure 'cause my pack adopted me after I was grown), do you really think I have a chance for kicking this car-sick thing, I can only hope! Also, tell your dad to keep practicing with the photo thing, it's so fun to see what everyone looks like! Are you really big and hairy like that other Wookie in the space movie? Happy reading all!

Cosmo, we could have sworn by your other pictures that you are a Bassett, but this latest pic makes you look like a beagle!!

Mom started the new book last night, but they've been working her really hard on her job, so she didn't get home until late and only got the 1st 5 chapters read. But she's already hooked. Can't wait until she gets farther into the story!

Hi, Everyone. Abby here…(ivy is typing for me).

I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the new book. I can't wait for Ivy's copy…maybe the UPS man will stop over on Friday. He always has dog biscuits in the Big Brown Truck. I love that. He lets me inside the truck to get the treats. Yeah!!

Cosmo…great photo. We love it. We are sure you'll get over your car fears. I did. Took me a while, but I did it. Maybe the drooling in the car was more separation anxiety for me. It is ruff leaving your home for your Foster Mom's home…then you have to leave again, when you get your forever home (mine is with Ivy, of course). I have every confidence you'll be OK soon, Cosmo. You have a wonderful forever home.

Here I am, completely kicking back. The stocking feet at the lower left belong to Ivy's hubby. My favorite hedgehog toy is in the photo too. The hedgehog has a missing nose…not sure how that happened. Weird thing.

    Enjoy the book everyone.

Zoë is reading just two or three sentences to me at a time. . . .

    Waiting is so hard.

That picture of Abby is so beautiful!! that reminds me of the time in DOI when Chet says he was sleeping in Bernie's room, "comfortable beyond belief"… (lucky Cosmo, having a copy of THAT!)

Hi Cosmo. I told my Dad to just get over his fears and do it. If he can do this then I am sure you'll be riding in the car, ears flapping with the wind in no time!!! As you can see I do have a lot of fur like my namesake. We're reading your new book real slow too. My Dad would read more but my Mom wants to savor it like your Mom. Your friend, Wookie.

My 'staff' is usually a fast reader. She is trying to really savor 'THAT' as it will be a while till the next one. I doubt she can stretch it beyond tomorrow though. She is too curious about the suspects.

So many and so sneaky. Well, time will tell.

Abbie, I think that's the prettiest photo of you yet.

I'm up to page… 80+ something I think… Another burst-out-laughing around that page, anyway, last night, but I have to be quiet. My husband goes to sleep earlier than I do.

Anyway, the guys had another great romp in the fresh snow this morning (still falling, too). They were soaked and satisfied when they came in. Wojo had tons of snow and ice stuck in his coat– he's a lot like you, Wookie, but black.

Eddie the cat is inside my sweatshirt as I type, purring. It's warm in there.

While Abbie is one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen, I don't think I've ever seen a dog as relaxed as Abby who belongs to the typist Ivy….

    Thanks, Diane and Liz,

I agree with Diane (and everyone else)…Abbie is one gorgeous kitty. The quilt-tested quilt is also beautiful, but not as beautiful as Abbie Kitty. Abbie has the edge on that one.

Great photo of Wookie, too. Lots of beautiful fur. 🙂

Yeah, all our furbabies seem to know about relaxation and comfort. I think they specialize in it.

    Thanks, Everyone.
