I just did some more PR work. When you attach the link to Facebook, you can choose which picture you want to go with it. So I went to YSAS’s page and put his picture up and a note that I was using him shamelessly to raise money for a good cause. I then went to Chet’s and did the link using the ARC.

BTW, The cute little goaties are Boer Goats, which is the same breed as the daddy of our goats. Most often they are white with a brown head. Those are young ones – you can tell because their horns are still small. I bet everyone will be excited to learn that!

We have found that if you click on comments and leave that page with the comments showing, then click older/newer posts, it shows the next/former item with bids already showing. Just in case some of you not-so-techies wanted to know. Earlier, Mom had been outbid on a couple of the things she was winning last night. Time to go back and up the ante.
Rebecca, Rio and Wookie, we were wondering if, on some of the items that could be duplicated (such as pictures, B’s book, the ARC, maybe)that, if the person who donated it was willing, others could purchase that item at the winning bid amount. That way if someone keeps outbidding Mom on the Newf picture or Cardinal picture, she could send the winning amount to Snowhook and get a duplicate picture? Does that make sense or is that getting too complicated?

Puss N’ Boots!….At this stage of the Auction Game, I don’t think it would be wise to through more options and rules into the mix….snort!…Things are rolling along quite nicely now as is….sniff!… Plus, it would take a lot of coordination to make sure the Donors would be willing to offer more items. Mom just checked for us and we are winning the 4 items we are actively bidding on. We started out with more, but are having to narrow down the items as the prices keep going up. This is our last day of big doings here for the Fourth of July. Music music everywhere. Last Friday was Rusted Root, last night the Buffalo Philharmonic, and tonight is KC and the Sunshine Band. The Buffalo Philharmonic ended with the 1812 Overture and the Stars and Stripes Forever musically coordinated with the fireworks display. Wow! There’s more music in town, this is just what’s here on the ski slope.

Hey, y’all! Mom and Dad just got back from their movie to let me onto the computer. They said the movie was funny but raunchy — very raunchy, whatever that means. (Raunch — isn’t that a place that has lots of horses and cows and stuff? Not sure what a teacher’s doing there.) Anyway, the main character showed movies every day — Dad said he recognized that tactic! Not him, though. He’s not a “Bad Teacher”!

Melanie: Dad tells a story about a time when he was stupid — I mean when he was in high school — and he and his best friend taped themselves calling his friend’s dog several times. Then they turned the tape recorder up as high as it would go and put it in the barn. They turned the tape recorder on and the dog would run to the barn. Then they would call him back. Then their taped call would make him run back to the barn. Over and over. They thought they were pretty funny. Then again, they used to make bets on what color sweater Mr. Rogers would pull from the closet every day, so just how much did it take to entertain those two???

I love those swimming bears, I mean Newfs…
AJ has been taking the dogs to a nearby lake while I’ve been away. Luna is part fish and loves swimming. Belle Starr has never swam before but won’t leave Luna’s side. AJ said the first time at the lake, Belle Starr followed out in the water Luna and then realized she couldn’t swim AJ waded out and brought the little girl back to shore. Now we have two fish…

Phooey! EVERYONE knows that there should be a KAT for President.
Kats are clean: we wash ourselves, we never smell, we even clean up after our personal necessities.
Dawgs love to roll in smelly stuff: therefore they are very good at politics, but not so much actually being in charge.
Kats are focused: we will sit outside a mousehole for hours waiting for the critter to stick his head out – then WHAM! No more mousie. In other words, it wouldn’t have taken a herd of KATS 11 years and a team of seals to get the bad guy.
Dawgs can be distracted by little things like fuzzbutts, baseballs, frisbees and Twizlers
Kats are dignified: one never knows what a Kat is thinking, hence we are very good at politics, diplomacy and Texas Hold’Em.
Dawgs can’t help it – if they’re happy, their tails wag. If they’re scared their tails tuck down, and if they are happy they act in the most egegriously undignified manner. NOT suitable for any situation.
Therefore, I Sage, state that the next leader of this country needs to be a Kat!
And, me Basil, state that there should be catnip for EVERYBODY!

Miz Barb and Maggie – I just came back from the auction site – no problem for me to get there. It is dang slow loading, but it works real fine oncet you get it all done.

Re the auction items, in the end i couldn’t afford to donate an artwork AND do the cookbook AND bid on items in the auction as well. Sorry, i should have explained earlier but I felt crummy about dipping out like that.

I’m hoping those sharks aren’t swimming anywhere near Charleston, because that’s where Mom and Dad and my girl are going to spend the Fourth of July. The fireworks go up over the harbor, and I sure wouldn’t want any sharks eating them before they go off!
