Wow. Inquiring minds definitely want to know. Tell us more, OFA. Or do we have to read it in the National Inquirer first?

    Good morning everyone.

Good morning Wookie’s Dad, and HRH Empress Queen B.

I wonder where in NY OFA is. I could have taken a mental health day from work. Maybe YSAS can find him….

If YSAS has no luck, perhaps Terry. Isn’t he on Long Island? Doesn’t he go to things like this Atris meeting? Oh, and
Gooood morning, everyone! (While it’s still morning) Have a wind-blown Wednesday.
We have commandeered Daddy Dawg’s computerwhile he’off gallyvanting around Michigan. Wowser! Easier to use, bigger keys for our paws, bigger screen so 4 of us can see better.

Now the no post makes sense. We will excuse OFA for now, expecially since he has a b-day coming up Friday. Have fun in the Big Apple.

This morning the rain and thunder boomers woke us up about 4:30.
We got close to 5 inches of rain in 4 hours! Barb went to the basement to check the sump pump. Never could go back to sleep, so we see a nap in our future.

HOH – we think you deserve a brand new ‘puter all your own in return for taking care of your Mom and the homestead while Daddy Dawg was off gallivanting. (Is that anything like gamboling?)

We sure hope the tour includes the WESTERN part of the state where OFA lives. hint hint….

    Goooooood Morning! It really is!!!!!
Mom had to go to a yucky meeting last night and insisted she had to take our iPaw, so we were not able to read or post at all.
T&G, Thanks you for explaining “override”. We here do not have such a thing, but we do have lots and lots of fighting over property taxes. Every candidate who runs for state legislature promises to eliminate them, and of course when they get there, there is nothing one single person can do. And the stupid Rs and Ds cannot find it in their hearts to reach a compromise of what to replace that revenue with.
Maggie, we here are all rescues. Mom said that none of us got shuffled around from foster home to shelter to foster home like poor Joe was. We mostly just came from shelters, and so we knew a good home when we got here. She said that Dima followed her everywhere in the beginning, but after he got used to things, he started being a normal husky, which means he does his own thing. Sasha had been confiscated from a hoarder, so she had food issues when she came, but she bonded with Misha completely after 2 days. Meashka was a “private rescue”, meaning she never had a bad home, just not one where she could run around like this here farm. And Kat was such a little baby, she really didn’t know any better. She was a scaredy Kat for a long time in that she wouldn’t go outside alone, but we think that was just her age, and not her rescue experience. So, sorry for being of no help. We think maybe Joey needs to be babied a bit for awhile. That is what we would do. Then he will gradually realize that this home is furever and he will adjust.
Bella, we don’t really understand your job, and we are wondering what it is you need to do in Barrow? brrrrr

We here are extremely worried about Masquers mom.

“Exciting news re the tour, A Cat Was Involved, and other things to come.”

    I want to know NOW!

It is 75 here today and the humidity is making it feel like 85. Carpola. Dotted storms on the radar. Last night’s storms never made it here. Went North and South of us. Tupper and Gilly got the southern storm. They emailed said it was The Newf Pack’s fault. T&G seem to think that The Pack’s wagging tails sent it their way and Corgis don’t have enough tail wagging power to send the storms away.

    snicker . .

Hi Masquers and BSD whenever you return . .

I harvested 5 strawberries! I cut them up, but a little bit on powered sugar on them. Zoƫ and I will have a small slice of gluten free pound cake, strawberries and whipped cream for tea.

I am glad Spence told us what he is doing or we would have started worrying about him. Have fun, Spence!

Stover, Thanks for the news about Masquers and his family.

Mom is jealous of Rebecca getting to go to Barrow because mom wants to see the Arctic Ocean. I want to go to the Arctic but I do not give a diddly about seeing any ocean.

Rose, you do NOT want YSAS to look for OFA at this point. Maybe Terry.

I don’t think a place like Atria would let him in. He looks as if he was in a fight and lost. He is still swollen. He has bruising up and down both sides of his jaw where the surgeon and staff had to hold his jaw when the crack it.

I think Terry is a better bet.

Do NOT like the Barrow weather report šŸ™
OH: Dog stories (rescue). 1) Sonja, wolf dog @ 5 weeks rejected. 2) Kahlua, to be put down because “too small”. 3) Lacey, ran away repeated, then she just stayed w/ mom (12/31/99). 4)Aretha, sold/papered, “retuened to breeder” @ 6 mo. 5)Jenna, husky mix, toooo big. 6)Ella Fitzgerald, left by son. 7)Emma P, at flea market (with papers?). 8) Pookey, needed home as “mom” couldn’t keep. 9) Lucy Lou, man had Boston Terrier but had no idea of energy of labradoodle ( especially huntress extradinaire). Soooo, only Darah Thea in mom’s life isn’t a rescue baby! (Like Adoption)

Okay Dawson, you and mom can go stick your toes in the Arctic Ocean while I have a few beers with the dogs in Barrow.

I just had an idea, on one of Rebecca’s trips to Barrow, if she can actually get to the Arctic Ocean, she should take a couple of jars (or whatever) to collect a bit of the Arctic Ocean. These little containers of ocean water can then be put up for auction in one of the auctions that benefit Snowhook.

I bet I already know two of the plunderers that would bid on them. I’m not naming names, but I live with one of them.

I could deal with the Barrow temps right about now. Sadie is panting already and it is a good 12 hours to go as the temps get higher. Tomorrow is to be hotter. I guess if worse comes to worse, we can sit in the car with the AC running. Can’t take a drive because of her anxiety issues that were discovered on the trips to/from Anchorage.

I look forward to OFA’s exciting news. It sounds like it will be a great week for him ending in his birthday.

I was just going to ask about YSAS’s teeth so I am glad Melanie updated us. Hope BSD/Masquers will be back soon.

Oh wise ones: can anyone recommend a good vacuum and why you would recommend it? I am in the market for a new one. I have used uprights and found them to be heavy and canister ones and found them to be awkward. I have both flat surfaces and carpets. If you don’t want to post your recommendations on the blog, please email me.

CHobbit – Mama lives for the day when she can afford a dyson vac. Other than that they are pretty much all the same. Vacuums suck.

Mama is in kind of a good mood. At long last, she has had the abiity to move her hand and be able to play in the Mud Room. She took her first works up to her mentor Andy to be fired, and he just praised and complimented her till she blushed. Ok, so she knows that he is a teacher, and therefore praises his students to inspire them, but she is in such awe of his talent that compliments from him just make her day.

AND we are proud to say that (finally) the purchases from the boutique are all packed and in the hands of the postal goats. Hopefully some will be in their new homes by the end of the week.

Bee – thanks for getting in touch with BSD and Masquers. Whew.

  29. Melanie
    4:42 pm on June 26th, 2013

I got in touch with the Dyson people and tried to convince them to do a trial with their vacuum in a house with (at the time) ten Newfs.

They were very nice when they wrote back and said no.

The Pack DOES love it when the gate is open. They run down the street to see all their friends they keep in touch with during the Twilight (or any other time of the day) Bark.

This is why we now use the large gate to one of the yards to get them in and out of the car.

I would love some Arctic water. I would put it near the bottle of Pacific water and sand that I collected years ago.

We don’t have a Dyson, just an Eureka upright. It works well on carpet and hardwood (only two bedrooms have wall to wall). The cup is a bit of a pain to empty out. The Dyson Animal is expensive, but we have seen it on sale for $300 range.

I don’t think I ever introduced the little one. Her name is Abeni, or Abi for short. Someone dropped her and two litter mates off at the FD I volunteer at in a burlap sack behind the station. No one wanted to adopt her as she was the runt of the three dogs that were there, so I decided to bring her home. That was in April. Her and Finn get along fabulously. She’s too freaking adorable.

Years ago, when I used to clean houses for a living, one of my customers had a Rainbow. I coveted one for a long time but the price tag was prohibitive. Up North, there is a dyson but I did not pay for it and I pretend not to know how to use it.

FinnDog is very handsome and so is his sister. All the Snowhook Dogs are handsome. Smokin’ Joe super good looking after his haircut. (I find most any dog is good looking.)

Oh, Belle Starr, I think you would do great with a Abi of your own. Just so you know, there are many big dogs in little bodies.

BlueKat, Mac – a dog with the attitude of his co-owner OTAS – was undecided about the vacuum when he was a puppy. He watched it carefully. Finally, he went up and gave it a huge smack. When it didn’t fight back, he figured it was okay.

Now trying to get him to move when we’re vacuuming the floor is impossible.

Mama is gulping and rocking in the cornet wondering how much a late night call like this is going to cost.
We just hope that the problem has nothing to do with animal fur….
    Saying good night for now.

Or is he just another kind of burglar??…wheeze!

Lefty!…Lefty is the father of the Detective Agency litter…snort!…OMYDawg. I was hoping these guys would be great Agents one day…sniff!…Now what will happen? Oh me oh my-oh…grunt!

Rio: It certainly wasn’t immaculate conception. The lads are leggy like me, and Little is petite like her mom. Ever band of agents needs a few who are good with their paws and sometimes just past the other side of the law—that’s where we step in. It takes all kinds. For example, you need a distraction you, get Belle Starr. You need to blame someone, you get Belle Starr. You need a sparkly costume, you get Belle Starr. She’s a triple threat.

Bed!…My friend says we should go to bed, but she doesn’t want to go to bed because she doesn’t want to wake up and go to the busy-place….sneeze!…The boney-fingered one is on an “extended medical leave”…heh!…But she is not talking to anyone to let them know how certain things are done…sniff!…My friend says the place is going to hell in a hand-basket, but not because the boney fingered one is gone. That is the only good thing that has happened….snort!…The powers that be tried to “fix” things too late, and now there are huge repercussions…wuffle!…Hence, she does not want to go to that place in the morning after she wakes up – so we are still UP…heh!

Factory!…There has got to be a Slim Jim factory somewhere, right?…sniff!….If we can obtain one of the factory workers id’s then we would have an “IN” into the front door…snort!…Then whoever goes in can find out exactly where those finished Slim Jims are stored….wheeze!…Then we can send in a team of highly trained Swat-Newfs to confiscate all those Slim Jims…somehow….grunt!…Still needs polishing, but I think it can be done…chuffle!yawn!

I sent in Agent Franklin (since he can make himself disappear) and he has found an obstacle. There are hundreds – well, more than two – freezers where they store the targets. He is not sure if we can get any Agents that have the willpower not to stand in awe of the magnificence of all that treasure. He took a quick picture on his go phone. (And thanks for making those phones mandatory equipment) It was difficult to understand his report. His jowls were full of Slim Jim wrappers.
