    Greetings!

    Such a beautiful photo!

Thanks, HOH’s Mom for all the beautiful photos you have been sharing with us! I especially like the ones where strengthening cocktails are visible, and the ones of Chef Digger. :^)

Thanks to all those at Snowhook for the race updates!

Off to get my head sharpened this morning.

Create a good day, and GO DR. JOE!

    Good morning all.

HOH: It’s nice to see all the snow-covered pictures of Anchorage and surrounding area. The Matanuska glacier pictures are beautiful. Digger has gone bald! Except on the front. Less hair in the food that way. Heh! Thanks for the photos.

Thanks also to the Snowhook reporters on the ground, on the couch and on the backs of others.

    Hey y’all,

The conference was great! Saw cool thingies, and Hilde was a star.

However, I really hate to be a downer, seriously, but read this and be outraged.

WHile I also flew American, my flights were…well…not pleasant, but not this either. Even so, no matter what kind of deal I get, I won’t fly with them again if this is how they treat people. I mean, not getting the mandated safety briefing, not being offered a beverage on my first flight when everyone else was, and being acknowledged only to be told to sit and wait for someone to help me off the plane (not asked, mind you), oh and being asked to move to a different seat as the plane was taxiing “for my own good”, because, you know, we couldn’t have discussed that in the half hour plus before the plane was leaving, yeah, nothing compared to this.

Buddy, we flew America Airlines to Alaska this trip and had a bad experience as well, although nothing like what you described. We got from Chattanooga to Chicago without a hitch. As we boarded for the flight to Seattle, a flight attendant blocked Digger’s way, put her hand ???? out and said there was no more room for carry-on bags and he could get the bag in Sea-tac. Issues? 1) I had a larger bag that goes under a seat and wasn’t included in the confiscation. 2) The bag was sent through to Anchorage, not Seattle. 3) It had his medications: diabetes, high blood pressure, and several others. This was told to AA employees who wouldn’t listen.
Is AA receiving another letter? You bet! As regards the service dogs, isn’t the ADA still in effect? Isn’t that animal an extension of the handicapped person much like a wheelchair (except alive)!
Buddy, AA needs to get its poop in a group or it could see boycotts.

Buddy,Leno,Hilde: A Big GROWL to AAL. If this is their idea of Airline Hospitality I don’t think we will be using their services anytime soon either (make that Never). Shameful!!

OMG! Another Story of Mistreatment of Passengers with Disabilities.
American is DEFINITELY on our NO FLY LIST.

We did have the opportunity to fly AA this year…glad we didn’t sign up for it.

From the trail…only 4 out of the 10 top contenders have completed their required layovers: Nic Petit, Ray Redington Jr, Aliy Zirkle & Jesse Royer.

    Love the photo!

Sorry to hear the horror stories about flying AA. Will keep that in mind when flying east in Sept. Anyone know the best airlines to check for trips into Baltimore?

Has anyone heard any news on Addie lately?

    Good morning and go Snowhook!

Buddy, your story and the open letter you posted upsets us very much. I can not understand why any passenger is treated without respect. Human kind is often not kind at all.

Thanks y’all. Sue has posted her story on social media, and we’re all sharing as much as possible. American is, of course, going to take their sweet time about responding. As I said, my story was nothing like this. I didn’t get safety briefings on two of the four flights. On the first flight, I was not offered a beverage when they were going around doing that (and it was a small plane). And then was told that I should wait on the plane until they could get someone to help me. On the way home, I had an aisle seat, got Hilde settled, it was a full flight. Not until the plane started moving did discussions about “He should be in bulkhead” (which I wouldn’t have wanted in any case) begin. So here’s the plane moving, and this flight attendant tells me I should switch seats with this other person. When I refused, she said it would be “for my own good”, because they didn’t want to run over my dog’s feet in the aisle. Only time she ever got into the aisle was when I got up to go to the restroom and she got up to look for me. I refused again and they left me alone. But I guess they couldn’t’ve kicked me off since the plane was already moving.

As for what governs, the Air Carrier Access Act, not the ADA, is the law that governs on airplanes. Even so, the law is clear, and American broke it.

I should say the law is clear and American broke it, certainly in Sue’s case. Mine was just annoying. Oh, well, not giving safety briefings broke it as well, but I’m at least grateful that no one tried to tell me that in an emergency I should wait for someone to come get me. How about awwwww hell no?
