Rio, I didn't know Jimenez had been sick with the flu…poor guy. We have crummy baseball coverage in our newspaper except for the Isotopes.
That was some home run last night. Maggie, mom says she will have to look up photos and video of Giambi on the internet. I'm like you, I can't imagine why. All I know is that he saved the game last night.
One of those sausages would be perfect for the game tonight. I need to eat instead of drink. When I drink, I start imagining things like there is a video of Rio on the internet.

~Riö, All I know about cameras with video is it is really easy to mistakenly video when you forget which setting your camera is on.
Staff gets rather 'shirty' when she does that. She thinks she is taking a photo and she is videoing instead.
As you know I have been without the computer while she was away. She took it with her, drat it all. However there have been rumors. If you find anything out let me know.

I know nothing about a video, and I am never taking a drink again. Normally, I don't drink, but I was feeling so bad for Jimenez that one thing led to another. I mean, can you believe that I actually thought there was a video of Rio on the internet. This is the trouble that drinking brings. I must apologize for making things up while under the influence.
I am sure your friend is telling the truth when she says that she can't figure out the video part of her camera. Just look at the technical problems my mom has.

Melanie: Here is what Lewis Carroll wrote about the distinction between the Red Queen and Queen of Hearts:

The confusion between the two is because they are often combined in popular culture. I think that the Tim Burton film uses elements from both stories. I'm going to watch the film again On Demand. I know that in the Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" there is the line, "And the Red Queen's 'Off with her head!'" but that is a line of the Queen of Hearts. I taught Alice in Wonderland years ago. College students began by thinking that it was too "young" for them, but I think I convinced them otherwise.

Alice would like a video of herself I know. She is a spoiled kitty. Now if they had one of me I hope it wouldn't be when they came home yesterday and I howled for an hour and sat with my back to them.

SH: Thank you. I think the infection is a bit better. The problem is that I have year-round allergies, so each condition complicates the other.
I don't think that Dante was being pejorative about ice. In parts of Circles Seven and Eight he has sinners in flames. His method of punishment was contrappesso, loosely translated to: The punishment fits the crime. In his version Satan has wings which keep flapping and that produces the ice which traps all of the sinners in that circle. Satan also has three faces and is eating a sinner in each mouth (Brutus, Cassius and Judas Iscariot). This of course goes on eternally. Some think (I'm one)that Dante was influenced by the mosaics of the Last Judgment in the Baptistery of St. Giovanni in Florence where he went to church. Here they are:

I have a degree in Art. Hated art history. Faint memory of the mosaics B. is talking about. I am not going there.
B, I lost my sense of smell and taste completely in 2003. (The last Thursday in February of that year. It is the kind of thing you remember) It was caused by a really bad cold. When it started to sloooowowwwly come back my smeller was broken. Things didn't smell good at all for many years. After awhile I could smell the icky things, usually when they weren't there. Diesel Fuel, Smoke from cigarettes, ammonia. (It is called phantom smells if I remember correctly.
I hated the new taste of chocolate, cola, melons, oranges. Oh it was so bad. It has been coming slowly back. I can eat almost everything now except chocolate and cola and lots of fried foods depending on the oil. I can't stand canola oil still.
For the few months when I couldn't taste or smell anything I couldn't cook. I never knew how much my cooking depended on my sense of smell.
Hope your smeller comes back soon. I have read that sinus problems can cause the same effect. No fun at all. Can you smell/taste things at all or do they just taste wrong?

One final thing on Dante, etc: The hell portion of the Last Judgment is not supposed to be pleasant. Its purpose was to convince the viewers not to commit sins. One of Dante's purposes in writing The Inferno was to make his audience want to seek redemption. Cut into the stone on the Gates of Hell in The Inferno is this last line: "Abandon all hope ye who enter here."

Stover, the Caleb that took part in the battle of Jericho was a human. Joshua is the one that is remembered from that Old Testament story, but Caleb was right there fighting with him. He's a little known hero of the Bible. How that Caleb got his name when Caleb means dog in Hebrew, I don't know.

Hey, guys. Sorry I couldn't post anything earlier today. My butt still hurts from those damn shots. This woman was holding me down while this man behind me stuck a needle in my damn butt. It hurt. BADLY. Then he's like, "All better," and I'm like, "Hell no." I turned out biting him once. Not too too hard, but, hard enough that he got the message NOT to go near my butt ever again with a sharp, pointy object.
The big, sweaty guys in my family? Well, I don't know who they're rooting for. I don't even know if they're watching it today. Right now I'm locked in Megan's room with Megan. She finally stopped crying after watching something on her laptop, something about Abusing Animals. And-oh, yeah, when she was crying? Used me as a tissue. I feel icky.

Molly, google Colrado Rockies. The first return that comes up is the Rockies website..you don't want that one. The second return that comes up, click on it. That will be Fox Sports website and they give you in print form a really good account of what is happening in the game. The page refreshes every thirty seconds.

Haven't had much time to post today. Mollypop, that sausage sounds delish. Especially the chicken part. Mom had a bad day – first the guys cutting up the tree got their truck stuck in the mushy ground, then they got their chipper stuck, and it is still here. We were outside all day with them. Mollypop: That's what I'm watching. mlb.com. You can keep track of multiple games with the icons up on top and click on one of them to go to a different game. Except for some reason the Minnesota Twins score still says 0 – 5 and that is wrong.
Tigers managed to hold on for a win. Hoorah for my team.

Dawson, I have to forgive you. I went downstairs and asked my dear sweet husband if the Twins were on. He said "Yes, but I turned them off it was 5-0." I asked him how you knew that score this afternoon and he discovered that he was watching a replay of the game. He didn't even know.
He asked what the final score was and I told him "no change".
Heh.
