And what better dog for the job than a Border Collie. They are tireless and love to work. The article mentions some airports use fake coyotes and fake owls. We can testify to the fact that fake owls do not work, at least not in the garden.

Diane, you must be a really early riser, since it is just now 5:46 in CA.

It is grey and drizzly here. The ‘rents are thinking about upgrading their iPhones to 6. They are due for an upgrade, although their 4s phones are fine. A co-worker of Mom’s told her that we pay an extra in our monthly bill, for our provider subsidizing the cost of the phone. This guy did a purchase of his new iPhone 6 instead, and pays for it in installments that are about the same as that subsidy. When it is paid off, he will own it, and he won’t have that extra subsidy in his monthly bill. Can anyone of you confirm this theory?

I have the 5s, but don’t recall the cost. I think I paid for it up front.

I am at the office and a client just told me that we have had no sunny days for almost 2 1/2 weeks, longest since 1954. I didn’t realize that it had been that long since I say any sunshine!

My boss is coming in shortly, and I am hoping for a Christmas bonus today! I brought him some candy and a book he is interested in reading.

O’Howlers, that is correct. The iPhone is paid for in your monthly bill after 20 months but if you keep paying, they’re happy to keep the money. Verizon has an upgrade that has a base price for the service and then the phone price is added to the basic bill for 20 months ONLY!

We are glad Aero has such a fun (for a Border Collie) job and she is keeping the planes safe. She is pretty.
My dear friend, Molly the Husky, would come up with a different solution for the bird problem.
I’m not very interested in birds.

Thanks for the cute pictures, TYB, Prince Teddy, and Princess Zeta.

If my mom hadn’t seen the sun for 2 1/2 weeks, she would be packing the truck to leave.

I meant to say saw sunshine, not say sunshine. Duh!

It is very quiet here today. Not many people interested in talking about insurance this close to Christmas. Next week will be busy with people calling in about new cars and new jewelry.

  18. Tupper and Gilly
    12:55 pm on December 23rd, 2014

We upgraded to a 6, and told the store manager that we did not want to pay an activation fee. Have been with Verizon forever and always pay on time. We danced around a little with the manager, but when we mentioned all the other companies offering deals and no activation fees, Verizon caved. We did buy the optional insurance for 10 a month because the new 6 is very fragile and has thin glass.

    1:13 pm on December 23rd, 2014

MPM, Thanks. That is what Mom’s friend said. He bought his iPhone 6 outright, from AT&T we think. They had some special plan, which may no longer be available, to pay for it in installments.that sounds very similar to what you said about Verizon. We probably need to stick with AT&T, because they give us the best cell service in our remote area.

Henry is stunning. I’m stunned. Really.
Scout, you might enjoy working with Ms. Pretty as she also enjoys barking at anything that moves (including shadows) or even at things that aren’t there. Her brothers only bark at me, and only when they want something (like quicker service with the food bowls, or to be lifted onto the bed).
Teddy RR–you did a great job on the gingerbread–who needs opposable thumbs?

I try to lure you guys to come here to visit by saying I’ll take you to Niagara Falls. Last March I succeeded and when you all arrived, we were hit with a snow storm and a driving ban. I’m not giving up.

Canal Side is another reason to come. It was 10 years in the making. People wanted to open the original entrance to the Erie Canal, but the NYS engineers said we couldn’t, the rocks would explode, and a replica would be built. We all went ballistic. The original canal was opened, no exploding rocks, and now people are ice skating on it.

Hi y’all. We are just sitting here waiting for our girl Niki to arrive. This is Tuesday, right? She said she would try to get here early, but it is just about too late to be early any more.

For the second time, Belle got into the the chocolate meant for the girls. This year it was TWO giant bars. The wrapper for one was in the kennel that Belle never goes in. I’m not saying who does or does not have chocolate on her breath, but it is Belle’s fault for getting on the counter. Again. Mom was careful to put the bar that was wrapped out of reach. Oh Mom.
