Three cheers for Teddy’s paw!! And that Debbie is amazing!!!!

I can retire in 17 months. Right now, I love my job and I am blessed. If we can afford to retire without drawing social security, then I’ll give it some serious thought. Most likely I’ll work a few more years. As things stand, we could afford to. (Not in any great style, but we’d be fine). It just seems that the world is a little uncertain these days, and I need to see how things play out)

I am writing this from the luxury suite of a fabulous hotel. I wish! Actually, it’s not all that luxurious and it’s not even a hotel.

We spent the night with Miss Addi at Valley Children’s Hospital. She will be having her second open heart surgery on Tuesday. This procedure will repair a leaky valve and replace her kinked up shunt. Although it will be an all day procedure, it won’t be nearly as scary as the one she had last September. Her heart surgeon thinks he sees an anerism near her heart, and that will add to the risk but I think she will do just fine.

Teddy’s Paw: You’re hired. Don’t leave home without your fancy thumbs for all capers. They come in very handy.

Gramsey: We will be with you at the hospital. We can’t wait to do races with Addi. We bet incubators corner like they are on rails.

Our Lady stayed at the office all night last night. She has a lot in her dog dish that she needs to get finished before she and the Giant leave for the race in Minnesota. Plus, the weather was bad so she stayed put and worked until the wee hours before taking a nap. Did one of her friends at work bring by provisions late last night in the form of gelato and ice cream bars? Youse tell us. Did said friend have trouble unlocking the back door so by the time she got into the office space our Lady was on edge thinking someone with untoward intentions was trying to break in? Perhaps. Did said friend yell out, “It’s okay! It’s me! It’s me!” as our Lady was turning off her office lights and locking to door and preparing for whatever was to come next? Yup. Did they laugh and eat ice cream before Our Lady returned back to her work? Yes!

Thieves! I shoveled my driveway late last night. Your Lady could have come over and slept at the Hobbit Hotel. I keep the big guest bedroom cat free and since she is used to a dog on the bed, Sadie would have been happy to oblige her with taking over 3/4 of the bed. I have ice cream too!

I’ve been meaning to mail youse another check for the race but now I will go to the Snowhook website and use the online link. Yeep!

It snowed all night and with a slight wind, it was beginning to drift this morning. There was no evidence of all my work last night. This morning was harder going…a 90 minute job rather than the usual 30-40. I was struggling today. What is discouraging and sad is that everyone in my neighborhood has a snowblower. I am the only one that manually shovels snow. One by one they snowblowed their driveways and sidewalks and put them away. Not one saw me struggling or cared. One neighbor two houses away looked like he was coming to help but, no, he did the sidewalk of my next-door neighbor who sleeps in on Saturdays and turned around and went home.

I don’t have a snowblower because my driveway is very short and I would need to get a really good one that I might have difficulty using due to my shortness. Plus I’d have to store and maintain it. Plus my upper deck is almost the size of my driveway and I’d still have to shovel it.

Who’s the big fat cat? His favorite place is beside the food dish. His next favorite place is the heated bathroom floor

Macy’s REAL team doesn’t play until tomorrow, but she was rooting for the Texans too. We can’t believe Admin picked that cheesy team over our ‘Boys. Time will tell.

Mary: eye seems good. Still some post-op symptoms but those should be gone in 2-3 days.
I was talking to someone who mentioned that she was still getting over a cold after 3 weeks. At this point it was only affecting her voice. Six hours later my throats starts hurting. Phooey.

Texans lost! Mom had to chuckle about Rio saying “Macy’s team”. There are many Dallas fans living in Houston but not many Houston fans in Dallas. Surprised Admin thinks Green Bay will beat Dallas. The Cowboys have had a great year!
Also so sorry to hear about beautiful Callie.
Congrats to Teddy’s Paw!! Mom is very envious.
