Good morning all. I think I have finally adjusted to the time change. I went to bed at the ‘normal’ time last night and feel sort of perky this morning.
On the other hand I have lost a cooking pot. I used to have 3 graduated pots that I love to cook in. After this last weekend the middle pot (about 2-1/2 quart size)is gone! Completely GONE. Well the lid is still here. I wonder if the Turtleman took it somewhere or it AKattyLibrarian stashed it in her carry-on? Hmmmmmm?

Bacon! I have a recipe for bacon candy. I haven’t tried it yet but I thought it would be a good thing to take on the Iditarod trail. Mainly because who else needs that many calories?
Rescues! I love the last few new FOC, mostly rescues. Squirrel hunter’s story made me shed a few tears.

This morning when they said it was 39 degrees today, they reminded us that one year ago was a record high of 87 degrees!
We heard also about he flooding in the Fargo area. Very scary.
I just heard Barb tell someone that she bought some doggy toothpaste when she was out. Prey tell (snicker), what is she going to do with that stuff? She’s out of luck unless it is bacon flavored!

Barb&Magpie: Nana and a friend were talking about this very thing just yesterday. Her friend is on her way to Wisconsin to attend her mother’s birthday celebration (103 this year!). She was saying when she stopped in DuBuque, Iowa last night the temperature was a brrry 20 degrees. Last year at this same time it was in the mid 80’s. A 50 Degree drop in temperature!

BSD, Dubuque is only about 50 miles from where Barb lived. If Nana’s friend continued east on U.S. 20 she would pass right by Lena, IL, which is the cute little town where we lived for 6 years. Well I lived there for only 3 years, cuz that’s how old I am.
Barb says that even tho it is brr cold out there, it is sunny and nice, so she is going to go out a cut some “kitten willows” from the neighbor’s large bush at the edge of our yard. Yes, Barb did ask permission, but why she wants to bring KATS into this house is beyond me. She said it will make the house look like spring. It is beyond me why she thinks a vase full of kats will look nice, and why does she think they will stay there? Does this whole idea make sense to anyone?

I am going to have to discuss this with the Turtleman. He often does the dishes. He doesn’t know where is the correct spot to put things. I am blaming him. I have never had a pot disappear before. If the lid wasn’t still here I would think I imagined it.

Walk!… When we were out on our walk we met up with a SiberH doppleganger…snort!….She had a ton of mascara on and her eyes were blue just like you-know-who….grunt!…. So we were all up-close and personal sniffing noses and suddenly the Siber let out a really loud YARK. …yeeep!…. My friend said Beau and I jumped a foot straight up in the air…wheeze!….She laughed about it all the way down the block.
Another!….Then we came upon another SiberH doppleganger …sniff!….This time we were a bit wary about getting to close in case of that Yark thing again….grunt!…But this guy was very well behaved and wanted to lick my friends hand…grump! ….We learned there are 4 Sibers within a very close proximity to my house….grunt!….Who’d have guessed?

We saw on the news of a couple of dogs that were picked up as strays in California. A blind Siber and a younger mixed breed who is his seeing eye dog. What a tear jerker! They must be adopted together as they are so bonded. They are being over run with adoption requests. Let’s hope Oley’s mom doesn’t see this! They will be adding two more to their pack!

My Lady went to the doctor yesterday afternoon. She doesn’t like going to the doctor. It has something to do a long held belief that there are so many people that should see her in a hospital gown. She is very modest? Me? I’m a bit of a nudist. Yep, just me and my collar. The doctor gave her some feeling-good-in-no-time pills and she’s been seeing Tenzing’s dancing giraffe ever since.

Hey everyone who is still awake. Melanie just called. Her beloved Patsy is kind of in a bad way. Melanie hasn’t mentioned it but Patsy has been slowing down and of late has been wheezing and having a hard time getting comfortable. Tonight she is in rough shape, and Melanie and Zoe are on their way to the vet with her.
Melanie says that no matter what it means, she has to make sure that Patsy is out of pain and comfortable tonight.
Yes, we know. Patsy had the cancer diagnosis over a year ago, and wasn’t expected to live more than a couple if months then. But Melanie has gone to the nth degree with care, and Patsy has had a great and pain free time.
We won’t know what will happen until they get to the vet, but Patsy needs prayers tonight. Prayers that her path will be a gentle one, no matter where it is going to lead.
We asked Melanie to call us later. If she does we will let you know anything that we know.

There is one less gentle soul on this side of The Bridge tonight. It was time for a puppy to cross over and go see the Raven and the other Ladies of the Pack that have traveled on this winter.
The cancer simply overtook this wonderful, big love bug. But she lived happy. She lived in pure adoration of her Melanie. She had the best kind of life any dog could hope for. She could bark at skateboarders and skiers. She could run with her posse and go for swims in her pool. She was loved as much no matter if she was fresh from her “spa day” at the groomer, or covered in spring mud from romping in the yard.
She had eyes that were loving and laughing and knowing all in one. She was a great mama to lovely puppies, and a comforting crying towel to her family when they needed it.
We were honored to know this elegant and silly girl. We wish her a wonderful journey and know that she will be greeted by friends, will have perfect knowledge and will be free.
Good night Patsy Ketchum. Thank you for being part of our lives.

Melanie and Zoe: I am so sorry for your loss. Tupper & Gilly provided a perfect eulogy for Patsy who was so loving and beloved and who lived life so well. She will continue her loving ways and continue her loving life on the other side of the bridge with Raven and other members of the pack. She will be happy while we are sad.
