A Plateful

“Freud or no Freud,” Bernie said, “we went into the cave.”

“Bartender?” said Lt. Stine. “Another round.”

“And guess what we found in the cave,” Bernie said.

The can of film? Whoa! That was from the Greed Case. And by the way, what was going on with that? Humans have this saying about having too much on your plate. This is the kind of time they would say it, but it’s a saying I just don’t get. I lay on the nice cool patio tiles at the Dry Gulch Steakhouse and Saloon and sighed.

“Here’s my guess,” said Lt. Stine, raising a fresh drink. “A UFO.”

Bernie’s face darkened. “That comes later,” he said.

Bernie – Lt. Stine – what were you drinking? Are you appropriately pairing your brews with your main course? Inquiring minds wanna know!

Lt. Stine – sarcasm does not become you. UFO, indeed. Although I must admit, playing this opposite Bernie is a perfect foil for Bernie's straightforward and earnest storytelling.

The Highfield Hall dog event (Hounds at Highfield) features "Smitty" a vendor who has home made ice cream cones for people and canines. I bet every canine in the western world — and definitely including Chet — would love to know what ice cream for dogs is all about!

Too much on your plate – never happens. Ribs, steak, a hamburger maybe – too much? Just eat it up! Too much indeed (Burp!)
