A Nice Big Yawn
“People seem to be enjoying Thereby Hangs A Tail,” Admin says. “Maybe you should get together with Princess for some other adventure.”
No way. The thing about Admin – and no offense – is that he comes up with crackpot ideas from time to time. I know crackpot on account of a vase Leda had, no longer in one piece although how that happened is kind of vague in my mind. Time for a nice big yawn.

Me too. About the yawn, I mean.

I agree Chet. While the adventure with Princess was great and showed us more of your wonderful abilities, it also proves that you and Bernie don't need anyone else on your team. Besides, Princess would never be able to keep up with you.

Yawn…always feels good. We are on Chapter 26. Have some ideas who the bad guys are…maybe. I can keep a secret though.

Still waiting.

Dog shrinks say that the nation within a nation yawns to calm themselves and/or others. Thanks, Chet, for telling it like it is. Sometimes it just feels good to stretch my mouth.

Hi Guys – I yawn many times a day, thanks for the tip HUSKY, I wonder if that means I'm kinda nervous? Well anyway it does feel good. I must have some hang-ups from my past eventhough us dogs are supposed to live in the moment. This is a photo of me last summer visiting with the nice vet lady from GA who saved me-she's what my pack calls my "Guardian Angel". Not sure what that means, though I'm sure glad to be up here in CT now, thanks Dr. Gloria! GUS & BOOBEAR, that's why no one knows for sure how old I am or how much basett or beagle I have in me. My pack & vet are pretty sure I've got both, and I look real different from different angles. What breed are you? WOOKIE, you are quite the dashing fellow and have great long hair. You must be proud of your Dad for finally getting that photo up, love the frame too! ABBIE, Mom and I love the photo of you on the quilt, you have such pretty fur on your back. You're lucky you get to test so many things! ABBY, we love your photo too, you are the epitome of relaxation! You're lucky too to go into a big truck and get special treats and have two homes where they love you, awesome! LIZF & MELANIE, hang in there, we hope you get your books soon! Tailwags, Cosmo

When I was a teenager we had a dog named Scout who always used to yawn when she was anxious. And it was always one of those super-cute yawns with a little whine in it. I miss Scoutie.
Henry loves stretching. He does it a lot, also very cute.

Cosmo, don't tell anyone but we're rescue cats. Mom & Dad used to have a Bassett, but after Sam passed away, the house has become strictly a "cat family" house. But we're all rescues!!! Mom would love to have another dog come into the family and we wouldn't mind as long as he realizes that the Cats are in Charge, but Dad says no. Mom plans to post our picture with friends of Chet, but she's kind of techno-stupid and hasn't done it yet.

I'm starting the book tomorrow! Don't plan on doing anything else but read!

There was a story about dogs and people "catching" yawns from each other on the BBC website a couple years ago. I sent my picture in and they printed it! I figured that one of the Queen's corgis would invite me over for tea, but it never happened- maybe because I look a little like a walrus. Anyway, here's an old link to the story – my sister Peaches and I are photo #5.

Love Thereby Hangs a Tail. Angela just finished reading it to us. Now we want to grab someone by the pant leg.

Aww…Keebler, thanks for the website with all the yawns. Too cute.
Also, Abbie Kitty looks like she is just starting a BIG yawn. Love it. No idea why, but Abby starts yawns in a series – five or six little yawns, each with increasing size, and then the finale of two or three more yawns, with the last being the biggest and most satisfying. Then it is back to mattress, carpet or sofa testing.
How did we get on this topic? I think Chet started it. 🙂
Cosmo, it's complicated, but Abby has only one home now. For 12 years, we drove back and forth between our work home and our home home. Home home was for weekends only. But now, since hubby has retired, we only have one home. No matter where we are, we're together. That is the important part.
Gus and Boo…shocking news!! I would have never guessed, but I sure love it. The other nation.
I know, Melanie…I'm still waiting, too. Maybe tomorrow.
Love you all on the blog.

This is only a test.

I'll try again.
Love the book. I knew the dogs had selective hearing, but didn't realize they also had selective sight . . "tried not to see him"
I'm rethinking reading this book while drinking hot coco!

WOW! There's the Doohickey-thing-a-ma-bob shaped like a paw…
Now if only I knew what to do with it!

Has that little paw been there all along?

Hey Cosmo, looks like you have a good thing going there. I love the combination of colors on your fur. My favorite.
Thanks for the link Keebler. It made me laugh. Loved your picture too. But one where the dog yawned so hard he fell over? My favorite.
Strange to say, staff has been yawning the whole time we read this post.
Staff is done with THAT book now and says she likes the idea of meeting Col. Bob again. He seems like a good guy.
