A Green Story

Got a very nice email from a reader who’d just finished Red Message, an early book of mine. She particularly liked the following line: “Here and there egrets stood motionless like white exclamation marks in a green story.” I’d sort of forgotten it, but now it’s growing on me.

Red message, white exclamation marks, and a green story. Very visual, we like it!
    Good morning all.

Speaking of images, I love the PFOM photo of a young Dawson striking a pose on the beach!

    Make it a good day!

Red Message. I don’t remember that title. The prose will make me look for images of egrets.

I started reading a Peter Abraham oldie that has been on my unread book stack for quite while, The Fury of Rachel Monette. I approach Peter Abraham novels with some trepidation having been traumatized years ago by the building suspense of The Tutor.

Wose: You picked the sweet picture of me. You should post the bad-ass one of me standing up in my high chair, wearing a soggy looking diaper with a pack of Lucky Strikes in my hands. Mom risked my life to get that shot!

The cottonwood trees are shedding their fluff big time right now. June snowstorm.

Dawson: You will have to e-mail that photo to me! It will definitely be a calendar shot!

Don’t know the other books mentioned but I do know The Tutor scared the BeJeebies out of us here.

Red Message!…I read this book. I could read it again because it has been quite a few years now…grunt!…I remember I really liked the ending. Not because I wanted the book to end, but the way it did end…snort!

Flurry!…My friend is in a crocheting flurry because her niece is having a birthday get together (outside) this coming Sunday. For ALL THREE KIDS!…wheeze!…So she is having to scramble to get all three crocheted projects finished in time…yeeeep!
