Good morning all. Glad to know that there are so many ways to get the story. We here do not possess the more sophisicated equipment, but we will figure it out.
Lots of rain all around us, but almost nothing happened here. So sad.
Kelly and the kids are coming today to help sort and pack. That will be a big help.
Kelly said she started reading the Little House series to the kids at night. She said “Who do you think is totally crazy about it?” Of course said Lily, the little country girl. Wrong! It is Ben, age 6, who keeps begging to hear more.

Spence and Admin thank you for the info on the downloads for the e-story. We didn’t know about Adobe Digital Editions. Now comparing the two pictures of Chet up top, we can see what others have noticed, they are exactly alike…the very same picture. They should have done the one white ear for the e-book we think.

We don’t own any of the technology listed in today’s post. We don’t even have a working printer. The cheapskate has learned she can get along just fine without a printer…that was two years ago.
CHarrris, We got out our map of Alaska to see what river’s flood plain you walk the dogs on. We know which river it is now, but we are not saying.

We aren’t grumpy today – the humidity and high heat have moved away and the weather is lovely.
AND they are just getting ready to go to beautiful Cape Cod to their hotel on the water, and their meeting with a certain author, and another Really Big Shew!

Yesterday mom decided she was not going to be pushed around in the walker, she was going to walk. And she did. Today the wheelchair that we ordered through the Veteran’s Administration months ago was delivered.

Today has been busy. My AC unit DIED last night as QUIT, PATOOIE. Patsy was not pleased. For some reason there are not many AC window units around our area. I went to Jonny G’s for some puncturing, came home and Zoë had found one of the last units in town. Drove there and since I was in town had to do the errands.
Then Jesse and I put the unit in the window. It’s time for a nap.

Nice short nap. Fell asleep to puppies playing and knowing I didn’t have to clen up after them. Three of them were going at it playing “my mouth is bigger” always a favorite.
Now I just have to stay awake until I go to sleep!
OTAS and GLAD come up Saturday. “Trash the Dress” photo shoot will start that evening with dry shots. I believe up that hill where I took some photos of Patsy, then a stone wall in a meadow and a trail in a meadow with heather. I need to find an area with ferns and trees. Luckily, that isn’t hard around here even with the drought.
Sunday will be getting the dress wet! Two areas. There’s a small swimming hole where people make rock sculptures and I found a pond that has lily pads. We will be using the kayaks.
Looking forward to this!!

Siber-H – tell your mom Kindles are user-friendly. My mom is absolutely not techno-savvy and she really likes her Kindle. Amazon makes it easy to download book after book (DUH!) and some of them are free.

Siber-H, Zoë is seriously upgrading to the Kindle Touch. It is easier to find things. Her arthritis in her hands doesn’t easily work with the cheapest Kindle.
Trash The Dress. Yes it is the wedding dress. AND she is NOT going as far as some do when trashing it. Our mission is to have fun and the dress must look perfect after dry cleaning.
My sister was discussing this with her co-teachers and they decided that they are tired of saving their wedding dresses because they KNEW their daughters were not going to wear them. Actually we don’t have a Kindle, but a Kindle for PC. The Kindle would be more convenient because Mom could take it with her.
Are there any power/reception issues to consider? Our cell phone reception on this end of the Island is poor to nothing. If not for the mini cell phone tower we would be out of luck.

Masquers, our cell phone reception on our farm is almost non-existent, yet we never have any problem with Kindle’s whispernet. Cell issues may have to do with our cell phone company. We do not have the Kindle Touch; we have the original, or maybe 2nd generation Kindle. We push a big bar to go to Next Page or Previous Page.
The YAY is for the rain. We feel sad for the horses because they had to be in all last night because of all the thunder storms about. We don’t put them out in the daytime this time of year.

Oh, oh. Renters issues…that sounds ominous.
B: That might be a problem. No cell phone tower around here. The nearest one is 10 miles away. We use a Airave which works via wifi for our cell phone. It’s only the 3G coverage we have issues with. A regular cell phone works (mostly). We may have to buy one of those because the smartphone is useless for roadside emergencies.
Good idea to ask Amazon about reception for the Kindle.

I just want to let you all know how much I appreciate your friendship, kindness, and love. Especially you, Rio!
Good thing Belle Starr had water wings for everyone…It is raining Kats and dogs here. There was much shaking of bodies to dry off, and the Prof and I used many towels to dry off the Smoochers.
Trying to figure out the easiest way to sneak the Smoochers into the hospital….
