A Cat Was Involved

No surprise to Chet (he often deals with cats, but most especially in A Cat Was Involved, the short story where he meets Bernie, and in A Fistful of Collars, where he and a cat named Brando must come to terms).

    Good morning all!
We really loved A Cat Was Involved and A Fistful of Collars.
Poor Chet just can’t win when cats are involved.

    So funny!

Mliauppa: You were asking about studded snow tires for bicycles? https://www.alaskahighwaynews.ca/local-sports/studs-on-ice-returns-to-charlie-lake-5034608

    Enjoy the day.

Dawson. Interesting, but that it motocross. They’re like wannabe motorcycles before they grow up.

I was thinking of a three speed street bike going to get the groceries. Pedals, brakes but not even an electric motor to help you get up the hills. Manual all the way. A “Mani/Pedi” bicycle.

Did some googling and they do have bicycle tires with metal studs for ice and snow.

    https://www.icebike.org/the-ultimate-guide-to-winter-bike-tires-and-studded-tires/

They look to be for people that do mountain biking and off road cycling. Those tires look like they are for bicycles, not a motorized bike.

And that sorta answered my question. They may not make chains for bicycles in the snow but they do make tires for them. With metal studs like golf, soccer, baseball and football cleats. It is also apparently a thing to let a bit of air out of your tires so they are slightly more flat to help with the grip. I can’t imagine pedaling like that. Must take a lot of muscle and stamina, two things I no longer have in abundance.

Rio: If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a zillion times. I don’t have an accent! I think I was speaking “North Dakotan” in that post.

Shaun White is always fun to watch.

Dawson. Remember. You don’t have an accent. Everyone else does.
