Good morning all, including any hogs that might drop by. The pups got me up earlier than usual this morning, so I am taking it slow until time to go to the resale shop, Beacon House. Due to my garage sale I missed last week, so maybe there is a treasure waiting to be found. I really need some new(ish) blouses.
A friend who lent me some tables for the sale bought 5 knives when he came to get the tables! Slowly but slowly the inventory drops.

Funny, Howlers. If HOH were fluffy/fat she might take offense, but fortunately, that is not the case.
Bear mentioned Timmy and the well last night. About 4 years ago a friend of ours (casual, English Shepherd group friend) drowned in a well. She was home alone on their farm and was out with her 4 month old ES puppy, Sage. Sage fell into an old shallow well pit and Marcia took off her sweater and jumped in to save him. Her husband came home that evening and couldn’t find her. They called a search team but didn’t find them till the next morning. They both had died of hypothermia. It was so sad. It it is surprising how often we hear that phrase about Timmy and the well, and we always think of Marcia and Sage when we hear that. Barb said she would have jumped in to save me, too.

B and M–I read your story and it made me sad, but then it also occurred to me that if I have to go (and it looks like I do, eventually unless the laws of Nature change) I’d just as soon it be while saving one of my furry children (but I’d definitely like them to make it).

May I call on you all for advice? Edgar and Conan are having a contest on the front porch and the smell is proving persistent. I tried sluicing off with white vinegar and with baking soda and water, but what I really need is a way for them to have their marking contest elsewhere. Does anyone have suggestions?

Rose isn’t trying to avoid the camera. I happen to have some great photos of Rose and the Prof from Alaska and the meet’n greet with the Royal Mum and the Storyteller a year or so ago. Amend that to “had”…like Riö…a computer crash wiped them off the hard drive.

Oh my gosh, you would NOT believe what we have had to put up with from those Wrotten Kats today. One little catnip mousie, and they are off giggling under the table.
The good news is that there is an empty shipping box out on the porch. With a little luck, some packing tape and a catnip mousie thrown in, two stoned kitties will soon be on their way to Istanbul.

Home! That Damn Pixie who stole my sparkles is finally heading home after her conference. This means two things: no more fun for me, me, me, and my sparkles are no longer safe. I will be on high alert to protect my sparkles as soon as she touches down.
Tomorrow is a big day for us here at the kennel. It is the first day to sign up for the race! I am sure I will be chosen for lead.

Let’s see…it has been raining for the last few days and Ikette has been super destructive. {{{sigh}}} I don’t understand that I take him out often to go to the bathroom and he does but then 5 minutes later inside the house he will go to the bathroom again sometimes. Also 90% of the time he poops in the house. At 2 AM last night I was out with him and evidently didn’t see a mess from Sadie that I stepped and and tracked all over the carpet. I had already decided that I would have my carpets professionally cleaned but I was on my hands and knees this morning trying to do some clean up. House looks really bad. I don’t think I will foster a puppy again. Problem is that when you foster an older dog, it is usually for a long time due to issues and the fact that adult dogs aren’t as adoptable. I have spent over $100 just on food and toys for the puppy (which will go to the new owners).
Oh and my smart phone was stolen yesterday so I have once again lost everything: contacts and photos (goodbye Turkey). This time the salesperson set me up to backup photos and my address book but I will be trying to reconstruct things all afternoon. I know there is a lot of contacts I won’t be able to find again.

Barb and Maggie: yes I have the worst luck. Unfortunately I lose camera too. Years ago I had a film camera and had taken last photos of Mom & Dad with their first grandson. (Mom died months later) I then took a short visit in a nearby town and didn’t have the phone when I got home. I retraced all my steps. My camera even had an address label on it. It is very painful when I think of what I lost. I also can’t at the moment find my hard copy address book so I am really stuck. Oh well. If I get this one stolen, I am just going to get a phone that does calling and texting.

MPM: no, my sister didn’t take many photos in Turkey, I was to share mine with her. When I got back home, I had looked on the internet about downloading photos from my Android phone to my MAC laptop and the information pretty much said that it couldn’t be done. Which is why I got an SD card for my phone and downloaded them onto that to take to the store to print out some of the photos. Today the salesperson says that I could have downloaded the photos from my phone onto my MAC laptop. The salespeople are helpful if you ask the right questions but if you don’t, it is not like that give you lessons about your phone. I did go to their website but didn’t find their videos very helpful.

I’ve been trying to have a good last night with Ikette. I’ve been playing with him, Sadie has been playing with him, I’ve taken him out every 40 minutes. Newspapers are scattered across the living room and he managed to pee on the small uncovered triangle. He has grown so much in 2.5 weeks he can get things off end tables. I hope his next home has a family to keep him occupied and watched over.

Masquers: I will still be sad to turn him over as I know he will cry since he will be kenneled until the adoption goes through. When I picked him up, he was heartbroken to be put in a kennel and the little pup fought it. I think he had been in a kennel a couple of days before I picked up him–pretty much ignored. I know he was really hungry and thirsty when I got him home. It really shocked me. I might be giving him too much to eat but he is hungry and growing fast. I feed him small portions a few times a day.

That is very sad to hear. Pawyers his furever home will be a good one with a big fenced in yard and kids that love to play with him.

RioMas: We have intel that says the connecting flight in Seattle was held for 22 passengers coming from Orlando. Was someone upgraded to first class? Yep! When she was waiting for her delayed flight in Orlando, she called the Giant and told him she may miss her connecting flight. She said she may not have slept, she may smell bad and look awful, but she will be there for the sign up.
Yeep! Time for take off!

Welcome home Bella.
The folks are not off to a show, but to a fun day. They were invited to a Strawberry Festival at a reservation in New York State. It is also the Chief’s birthday, and there is going to be a huge celebration for that – unbeknownst to the Chief. A few famous musicians, actors and celebrities will be there.
It will be a long day, but a good day. Mama promised us pictures.

Hooray! The Pixie is home with the Giant and today is sign up day for the Iditarod 2015. Yeep! Here we go again!
