“Last day of the month,” says Spence.

“So therefore – although Bernie handles the so therefores,” says Admin, “It’s time for the Friend of the Month reminder.”

“Check the right of the screen. See Hubert? He’s Chet’s November Friend of the Month. His human companion sent in a photo to the Friends of Chet gallery. The random number generator – “

“East German Army surplus, circa 1956 – “

” – did the rest. Winner stays over there for the month and the winner’s human companion gets a signed and paw-printed – “

“And illustrated by Banksy – “

” – copy of the latest Chet and Bernie novel, in this case The Sound and the Furry.”

“This could be you! Just send in a photo!”

*All 100% true, except for the Banksy part. PS – Banksy, get in touch.

“Since when did Black Friday become part of the Thanksgiving tradition?” Spence says.

“Goes way back,” says Admin. “Squanto had a trading post and he marked down everything the day after that first feast. Governor Bradford had no clue everything had been marked up a few weeks before.”

“So nothing changes?”

“You said it.”

Welcome Luna & Maggie, Jackson (first Xmas-themed pic this year).

5.0 out of 5 stars – If I had a tail, I would wag it! – November 24, 2013
Six (Indiana), on The Sound and the Furry.

I love this series! I read one Chet and Bernie book, it pulled me in like a leash, and I have been romping my way through these ever since, panting in anticipation for the next episode! The stories are exciting, the plots intriguing and original, and the mysteries are real page turners! There is no shortage of close calls (the Chet treading water scene was a gem!) Humour and originality abound, and you can’t help but fall in love with Chet and Bernie even as you are snorting with laughter over Chet’s take on the human condition and situations they find themselves in. And underlying this, woven throughout the book, is the deep, abiding love between Chet and Bernie, or pet and human, that is beautifully captured and incredibly moving. I cannot wait for the next episode!!!
