“You’re Skyping today?” Spence says.

“Correct,” says Admin.

“I didn’t know you knew how.”

“Today is a first. Reality Check – “

“Novel you wrote? Winner of the Edgar Award for best young adult mystery novel, 2010?”

“Correct. It’s nominated for the Sequoyah Award – “

“Aptly named.”

” – a prize they have in Oklahoma, voted on by high school kids,I believe, and some of them want to Skype with me.”

“Good luck.”

“What does that mean?”

Welcome cagey dude.

“No baseball in Stovernia?” Spence says.

“That’s going to be tough,” says Admin. “A jailable offense, I believe. But we can drown our sorrows in Cahors.”

“It’s a dictatorship, I take it?”

“I believe so.”

“Benevolent?”

“As long as a certain someone never hears the crack of the bat. Grammatical and syntactical errors aren’t taken lightly, either.”

“So – ‘He slud into third’ would be very bad?”

“The worst.”

Welcome Kiwi and Hazel.

Happy Birthday Ben! And many many more!

“Do we have an announcement?” Admin says.

“We do,” says Spence. “This summer there will be an e-book original, as they’re called, of Chet and Bernie. It’s the length of a pretty long short story, and takes place during a crucial twenty-four hour period in the lives of C and B.”

“Are we talking about the day they met?”

“We are.”

“What happened?”

“For that, you’ll have to wait for publication. More to come on the date, the title, etc. But for those who don’t have a Kindle or Nook or any of those devices, there’s still a way. All you have to do is download Adobe Digital Editions or Kindle for PC and you can download the short story to read on any computer or PDF reading device that’s compatible.”

“Sounds easy, relatively,” Admin says. “And now, in answer to those who wonder where the image of Dog On It went here on our new (and very nice, in my opinion) redesign, it’s still down at the bottom. The same thing will happen to Thereby Hangs A Tail when the book after A Fistful Of Collars comes out, and so on.”

“Till the end of time?”

“And beyond!”

“Hi out there, everybody,” Spence says. “You’ll note a slight redesign of the blog.”

“Time marches on,” says Admin. “And only in one direction. Einstein explained why that had to be.”

“Um, right. Anyway, we hope people like it.”

“Are you going to tell them about the upcoming – “

“Shh.”

Welcome Ginger.

Tonight at 7, Plymouth Public Library, Plymouth MA: Spencer Quinn and Peter Abrahams.
