“How does Rio do that sleeping sitting up thing?” says Admin.

“Don’t know – but it would come in handy.”

“Get enough steak?”

“Tasty or what?”

Sure was. And now I’ve got a nice T-bone buried and I know just where! Something to look forward to and that’s something I always look forward to, meaning having something to look forward to. Kind of confusing but it makes me feel tip-top.

In Dog Years? (Revised)

“We taking the day off?” says Spence.

“On what basis?” says Admin.

“You know.”

“Do what you like,” says Admin. He hits the switch, gets the grindstone turning.

“How about,” says Spence, raising his voice over the noise, “we say something about how much all the people at the blog mean to us?”

“Absolutely,” says Admin. “Mind if I take the rest of the coffee?”

“But I haven’t had any y – “

“Should we mention that To Fetch A Thief comes out in paperback Tuesday, July 5?” says Spence.

“It would be the mercantile thing to do,” says Admin.

“Meaning?”

“Yes, for God’s sake. And add that it’s not one of those crummy mass market pb’s, but the much fancier trade pb.”

“How about we call it the carriage trade paperback edition?”

“Are you making fun of me?”

“Would I ever do that?”
